The Purity, Quality & Origins of Nature's Alchemy's 100% Pure Essential Oils Nature's Alchemy requires their essential oil suppliers to verify their testing methods and supply complete quality analysis on each oil. Two of the standards used in identifying and certifying essential oils are the C.A.S. Number and the Specific Gravity of an oil. The chart on the back panel shows both for each essential oil. The C.A.S. Number is an international Chemical Abstract Services number which is assigned to all essential oils. Each number identifies the essential oil of a specific plant which corresponds to the botanical name listed. The Specific Gravity of an essential oil is a measurement of the weight ratio of each oil to water, which has a specific gravity of 1.0. This measurement is one of the main criteria used in verifying the purity of an essential oil. Nature's Alchemy also requires two additional pieces of documentation for individual oils from their suppliers: Certificates of Analysis document the physical analysis of each batch of essential oil they purchase. Gas Chromatograph Scans verify the chemical constituents of the essential oils and are so sensitive they can detect the presence of solvents if they have been used in the extraction process. This assures them of the high purity of the oils they purchase. About Nature's Alchemy Since time began, scents have been used to enhance, soothe or excite the spirits. Suggested Use: Suggested Use:s for Essential Oils Aromatherapy Combine essential oils with special massage techniques to relieve stress, soothe the skin or help ease congestion. Many books on aromatherapy techniques can guide you in choosing the right oils to meet your needs. Body Care Give your favorite unscented lotions, bath oils, creams and hair care products an exotic lift by mixing in a touch of essential oil. Or give your hair and scalp a refreshing conditioning treatment by placing a few drops of rosemary or lavender oil directly on your natural bristle hairbrush (which also conditions and protects the bristles). Crafts Create a festive mood around the holidays or a sweetly scented mood for spring by “decorating” your home with the fragrance of essential oils. Potpourri, incense, candles and herbal fragrance pillows make unique, personalized gifts. Include a small bottle of essential oil with your potpourri gift, so the recipient can refresh the mixture throughout the year. Culinary Treat yourself to a distinctive natural flavoring in candies and confections. Pure peppermint oil has been used commercially for many years to make candy canes and chocolate mints. Environmental Fragrance Bring your favorite essential oil into your bedroom, bathroom or any room in your home by using a diffuser or by placing a drop of oil on a light bulb before turning it on. This same technique can bring a refreshing reminder of home into a hotel room. Inhalation and Facial Steam Steaming hot water with a few drops of a soothing oil like chamomile can be a wonderfully relaxing way to open the pores before a facial treatment. After adding the oil to the steaming water, place a towel over your head and breathe the steam in deeply for several minutes. Take care not to make the water too hot, and keep your face at least six inches from the steaming water. Massage Enhance the naturally sensuous experience of a massage by adding a few drops of your favorite essential oil to an unscented massage oil. With the appropriate oil, your massage can be relaxing, muscle-soothing or energizing. Personal Fragrance Unwind with a spa-like scented bath by adding a few drops of essential oil to your bath water. Or make your own custom blended perfume oil by blending a few drops each of your favorite essential oils with a high-quality vegetable oil. Jojoba oil (a plant wax) is highly recommended as the base oil for perfume oils; it will not become rancid and alter your fragrance. Perfume oils are very concentrated and long-lasting; for a less concentrated, lighter scent, make your own perfume by blending essential oils with a pure vegetable-source alcohol.
