Only needed this to replace my dysfunctional 3-year old unit that is needed as a result of a 90-year old family member who refuses to learn or use a cell phone. Hence, she either does not receive calls from her friend or we have VOIP in the house. This unit now works perfectly and is an identical replacement for the previous unit. However, as a result of these units no longer being made, the retailer chooses to put a more-than premium price on it (very pricey) - that's the reason for the 3 stars.

T-Mobile HotSpot device review
This device works well...but be sure you have a decent Internet service provider. I've found a GREAT difference in the operating of this device since I've moved and changed Internet providers. My former local Internet provider was a very small local company. We found some very SMALL 'hiccups' with their services (minor droppage, on occasion) and it's very suspect that those hiccups caused this device to repeatedly DROP our home phone service. We don't know that for certain, as both T-Mobile & the provider pointed fingers at each other. PLUS, T-Mobile & Lynksys no longer support the service for this product. (we've replaced this 3-4 times)

an oldie but a goodie
In excellent condition. If you are one of the fortunate few that signed up for T-Mobile's "at home" service, you might want to buy a spare router as T-Mobile does not support these any longer. You'll get technical support, but nothing else.It looked brand new and works well. If you do buy one, be prepared for it to work for an hour or so then shut off the VOIP phone. You'll have to call T-Mobile and have them send you the software upgrade to make it work again. A little hassle but for $5.00 per month, totally worth it.

Still losing my connection
This was supposed to be a new product. The seal on the box was broken. The router looked OK and the items in the box were all in sealed plastic, but why the broken seal? I know these routers aren't being made anymore. If it's a refurb, why did I pay full price? It took about five weeks to get here. I guess it really did come on a slow boat from China because of the Chinese characters on the packaging. I knew it was going to be slow. What I didn't know until I was paying for it is the shipping cost was something obscene like $25. So this was not a bargain by any means.I found out from my last TMobile tech that I can actually use the much cheaper, shiny black model since I don't need the Wi-Fi aspect of this router. I'm going to buy one of them just to have on hand.

Got more than a year ago and still working great
Had to replace the old one which lasted for a few yrs. Still replacement one has been going strong for about 13 months since purchase. Easy install if you read the instruction and even though this was same model as old one, it seemed more reliable. With the old, I had to reset/reboot the unit as the Mobile HotSpot for LAN phone kept going out eventhough blue light was on quite often like once a month. With this unit, I've maybe have to do it once every 3 to 4 months.

Linksys Router for TMobile At Home service
I never ordered from Amazon before, I was skeptical, but I had to have a router for my home phone service and everyone kept saying to go to Amazon so I felt I had no choice. Now I know I shouldn't have worried. The ordering was easy and so was the payment process. I received the product within the time period I was told and the item was as advertised, new and in the box. I hooked it up the day I got it and haven't had a moments problem with it. The product, by the way, is a Linksys WRTU54G-TM T-mobile 54 Mbps 802.11g Wireless LAN 4-Ports Router w/2 Standard Landline Phone Jacks (whew, say that fast 5 times).

Used Linksys WRTU54G-TM
I got it with one of the 2 spots where you put the sim cards broken. I have 2 T-Mobile land lines, so can only use one of them at a time and must trade out the sim cards each time I need to use the other line since the other sim card slot is broken. Which totally sucks. I feel that I got ripped off.

Good router
Being one the very few to still have tmobile as my home phone service this router was kind of a necessity. The previous one quit (out of warranty by a few years) but this one works better than the original for wi-fi. Faster and stronger signal.
