Something so cheap that may save a life, why not get a few?
For men and women in combat environments, immediate first aid can be the difference between life and death. For most of my career in the military we were taught that a tourniquet was a 'last resort' this has been proven false by the current wars. Severe injuries in inaccessible areas creates the need for immediate trauma care. The H&H TK-4 tourniquet is designed specifically for this purpose. Its one-handed application provides a simple to use device that makes stopping arterial bleeding easy and direct for injuries ranging from combat trauma to accidental amputation.TK-4 features a newly developed woven elastic textile band (3" wide by 40" long) that provides incredible strength and flexibility. With two steel hooks fastened steadfast (three thick hog rings per S-Hook) to both ends of the elastic band, and packaged in a small, vacuum-sealed pouch. TK-4 is the perfect solution for any kind of injury involving arterial bleeding.TK-4 has been deployed by the US Marine Corps, US Special Forces, and numerous law enforcement and emergency services. In April 2007, the Navy Experimental Diving Unit compared several of the leading self-applied tourniquets on the market including the H&H TK-3 and TK-4 models. Their research found that both H&H products ranked at the top for overall efficiency and product usability.Even more important for those carrying their gear far and wide the TK4 is light and you can carry two in the same space as the Army issue CATS. Both are good designs and I typically carry one of each on deployment and in training. I like the TK4 so much, and its so inexpensive I also keep one in each of my personal vehicles too.

Believe the hype
Affordable option for a basic medkit. Small and light enough to carry as an extra, a backup, an ankle kit, or for a child.

they work great, easily used one handed and they are sturdy ...
bought these to put in a first aid camping kit. they work great, easily used one handed and they are sturdy and hold there elasticity very well. my only complaint (which is very minor) is the little rubber tips on the end of the metal hooks come of way to easy and make it painful if you get skin tucked in between hooks or strap. I remedied that issue but putting super glue under the rubber tip and reapplying to metal hook seemed to stay longer but have not really used since. Hope this helps.

good quality product
This is not as fancy or as robust as some of the other tourniquets available, but certainly useful if you are on a budget. It will get the job done in the case of serious bleeding. I just hope I never have to use it, but I'd rather have it and not use it than need it and not have it.

Truly one handed
I'll start off by saying that I have used the CAT, SWAT-T, and RATS tourniquets and this would be my second favorite right behind the CAT. I believe that it is much easier to use than the SWAT-T, more comfortable than the RATS, but less effective than the CAT. Ultimately this will replace the SWAT-T as my EDC tourniquet but my IFAK and trauma kit will remain stocked with the CAT.

small, compact, gets the job done
i was worried that the dual hook system would undo itself, it's not the case if you sinch it tight. i still recommend getting formal training with this product

Good update to the all rubber versions orginally included in IFAKs.Luckily have not used the one I keep in my car's emergancy kit, but did use the orginal stlye ones in Iraq. Good for an arm bleed, but a CAT or SOF-T is required for a leg bleeder.
