Unstable connectivity
As others have reported, it looks like some of these have intermittent connectivity issues. This drive just disconnects randomly. I changed cables, even buying a new, high-quality one. Still disconnects randomly. I changed power settings on the PC to not shut down drives due to low power. Still disconnects randomly. I even changed a regedit setting to make sure that external drives remain connected. Still disconnects randomly. I changed ports on my laptop. Still disconnects randomly. I connected it to a powered hub. Still disconnects randomly. No matter what I try it disconnects randomly. Maybe gets hot? So I have it lying flat on a cable tray where it gets air circulation on all sides. Still disconnects randomly. I scan the disc, but no errors are found. Maybe a production quality issue? Some loose connection inside it?
