Great Vacuum... Great Service
I purchased my robotic vacuum in September 2018 and just two weeks ago it began acting up on me. So I called the service number and got in contact with a service representative that told me that they would be more than happy to help me. They asked me to take a short video to show them what the vacuum was doing which I did. Once I sent that video they determined that the battery was bad and they immediately ordered a replacement battery which I am waiting for currently to arrive. This vacuum is great as we have two dogs that shed constantly and four kids that track tons of dirt into the house. With mostly hard floors, our Mooka does a very good job keeping the floors clean everyday. It is also very quiet compared with the Bobsweep robotic vacuum that I also have. The Mooka is so quiet that it will run early in the morning while we are asleep and never disturbs us. It is far less expensive than other robotic vacuums and does a quality job! It is easy to clean and maintain and always finds its way back to the charging base as long as the kids don't leave anything on the floor for it to get tangled up with. I am actually thinking of getting another one as our house is large and it takes at least two charge cycles for the Mooka to do a thorough cleaning of our floors. If you have a smaller house or apartment, then this thing is going to change your life!

Why pay twice as much?
It appears that there are only four companies that make robot vacuum cleaners, iRobot, Samsung, Dyson and the Chinese company that makes the core robot for the many companies selling vacuums that look identical to the Mooka, most of which cost much more. I tried to find out what I would get by paying twice as much as the Mooka price for one of the other brands, but, if there are any significant differences, they are not obvious from the information available. The Mooka vacuum is working very well. It runs for about two hours each day starting at the programmed time and, eventually over the course of a few days, visits every room in the house. We no longer have the "ghost turds" due to dogs shedding floating around on the floor. Mooka gets into the places that are a nuisance to try to get to with a standard vacuum cleaner. It even seems that the A/C filters don't need to be changed as often since we have been running the Mooka. The bin generally needs to be emptied every one or two days but, in our case, most of the content is dog hair so a home without shedding pets can probably go longer without emptying.

Great Product Quality and Customer Support (after 1 year of daily use)
This is a simple robot. No wifi or fancy features. It does memorize the floor plan all by itself eventually (give it time), and make it back to the charger (almost always). After a year of daily use, being handled, taken apart and cleaned nearly daily..... Here are some very good points about the Vacuum: 1) It is built very well...not cheaply made. Parts stand up to daily use as does battery. 2) It vacuums a long long time....just as long as they claim 3) Even with daily cleaning..you will find LOTS of lint, dirt and other things in the trap. It always finds things to clean 4) Overall ...It reduces what I need to clean, and keeps floors cleaner more easily......Hey isnt that what these things are supposed to do ? I did have a problem with a filter part, and because of their mistake, they made up for it by expediting me what I needed very quickly. I would not hesitate to buy a Mooka product again because they clearly stand behind customer satisfaction.. If they get one that works on thicker carpet ...I will try that too. Regards Jim

Follow up, 6/6/2020
My 1st review was positive but read on to the follow up because I’ve had months of frustration and I am now stuck with a robot vacuum door stopper!***** I love this robot vacuum, the battery lasts 2 full hours and I was amazed at the amount of dust bunnies and dog hair it sucked up on a daily basis. I did have an issue where after working perfectly for 7 months it stopped retaining a charge and either ran out of juice or shut off before reaching the dock, I contacted mooka's customer service and they were great, they tried to troubleshoot the problem and when all else failed they replaced it with a new one since it was still under warranty. The remote I feel should be better because it goes through the battery in a few days, maybe in the future they'll have an update where you can control it via an app but that's just wishful thinking on my part. I would buy this product again and I highly recommend it, not only because it's a very good product but also because of their customer service. Follow up, 6/6/2020 Well here I am again with the same issue as the last time. My replacement died also and again in less than 1 year, I don’t know if the vacuum is garbage and their lifespan is less than 1 year or if I’m just getting defective machines, That being said, I contacted customer service and this time they weren’t helpful at all, at first they claimed that it was out of stock and they didn’t when they would be restocking so they offered me a pathetic refund which I felt I had to take because I didn’t want to risk the warranty expiring and being stuck with nothing, they told me to call during the week for my credit code because I called during the weekend and the people that dealt with that didn’t work on the weekends, to make a long story short they kept giving me the runaround for months until the warranty finally ran out and then said that they pulled the product from Amazon and are no longer making them so I’m not entitled to a replacement or refund, it’s not like the company went out of business but more like who ever bought a defective product from them that they no longer make are screwed because they will not honor the warranty on the product. So word to the wise NEVER BUY ANY PRODUCT FROM MOOKA or KOIOS which are the same company You will be left with a defective product and no resolution.

Works very well and even handles our near-shag carpeting!
I was concerned what would happen when the Mooka (as I call it) reached the edge of the tile and hit our long-pile (essentially shag) carpet. The description specifically said that the Mooka was intended for only short-pile carpet. I thought it would, at best, hit the carpet and turn around since it was so high. I was very pleasantly surprised when the Mooka surged up over the carpet lip and trooped its way across the shag carpet, leaving a vacuum line across it. We've been using it for over a week now and I'm very happy with it. The only problems we've had is it getting caught on a thin rug and under a reclining chair that it just the right (or wrong) height off the floor. I placed a large paperback under the front of the chair so that the Mooka would turn around and replaced the small rug with a thicker one. I've got it set to run at midnight and have the kids close their bedroom doors. It troops around the kitchen, dining room, living room, and halls for a few hours and finds its way back to the charging station. It's kind of embarrassing how much dust and stuff it picks up each night.

Started great, ended unsatisfied
I’ve loved my mooka. I’ve had it for 9 months and it’s generally been great. It has good suction, it can clean laminate, low pile, and medium shag reasonably well and doesn’t get stuck on transitions. It’s not particularly “smart” and does need occasional rescuing but overall it works great. The only thing I would like to change is that there’s no way to take the mooka off a schedule once it’s been set. You can modify the time of day but if your going on vacation there’s no way to stop it completely. After 9 months the side brushes stopped spinning and I contacted the customer support live chat. I spoke with Dianne. She was responsive and, after reviewing a video of the problem, offered me a replacement machine. Overall I am very satisfied with my experience with Mooka Edit 5 weeks later: so the replacement vacuum never came. I contacted the company and they said it was out of stock and offered me a 50% money back...um what?! I reminded them that it malfunctioned while it was under warranty, said they needed to honor it and told them i wanted a full refund if they couldnt replace it. They agreed after a bit of bluster. I’m still waiting for that money to shower up in my bank account. We’ll see if it ever gets there... it has put me off buying off-brands, I’ll probably save up and just buy a Roomba after this. Due to this experience I lowered my review from 4 stars to 2. I was really hoping this vacuum would last more than 9 months and had hoped to have a better customer service experience.

Great Customer Service, Updated Product has Kinks
Let's start off with customer service. Customer service via email, and chat, were very responsive. Especially on the Chat! Thanks John! I had purchased a unit back in mid 2018. LOVED it!!! It was a hard worker, and performed exceptionally well at its price point. But the unit died early, within it's warranty period. The side sweeping brushes quit functioning. Trouble shooting with customer support got them working temporarily, but they kept malfunctioning, and quit working altogether. I repurchased this unit after receiving a full refund from the manufacturer. The refund process was fairly painless, and quick. I was just out return shipping. But again customer service was great. This unit was labeled as an "Updated 2018 Model". I guess the model I had purchased in 2018 wasn't an updated model. PROS: Unit appears to be faster, and covers more square footage in smaller amount of time. IR sensors seem to be upgraded, and their illumination can be seen on our security video. But the unit still tends to get hung up at the edge of the top of the stairs. Suction may be improved (see CONS), and the unit cleans very well, picking up debris nicely. Running time is still at around 120 minutes, which is outstanding. CONS: This is a BIG one...the remote chews through batteries WEEKLY! These type of remotes transmit a signal constantly, and battery life expectancy is limited, but this is ridiculous. It's not even been two weeks since our purchase, and the remote has already gone through two sets of Duracell AAA's. With our original unit the batteries lasted a month. This makes the price point worthless if you're spending weekly on expensive batteries. Next up is noise. The unit is louder than the original, at least twice as loud. Possibly improved suction makes it louder, but even when it's returning to the charging base it's noticeably louder. Our original unit was very quiet, whisper quiet when returning to base. Lastly the AI is wonky. Unlike the original unit, this one does not remember room layouts well. The cleaning pattern changes daily. The original unit used to clean each room in a certain sequence almost without fail. This unit seems to clean in a random pattern. It also has a hard time finding its way home, failing to make it back twice, before losing its charge. Maybe I got a bad remote, but the noise level and AI quirks still knock it down a bit from the original unit. *****Update on Remote: I notified the manufacturers about my remote problem. The GOOD - Again, bravo to the customer service, as they responded immediately, and processed a replacement remote fairly quickly. It took a couple of weeks, coming form outside of the US, but it arrived without any issues. I was initially told there was going to be a tracking number assigned, then later told there was none. The package arrived with a tracking number on its label. A minor hiccup. I was able to pair the unit after three attempts. The BAD - the remote lasted a little over a week with only one use. Meaning I used the remote once, to guide the unit into another room ONCE! I left for a vacation for five days, turning off the unit, and leaving the remote idle . Upon my return the remote was dying, showing a low-bat icon and fading display. So it lasted about nine days total. I can understand there being a bad remote once, but twice means there is definitely a production problem. I should have kept my original remote to see if it paired to the newer unit. *****Newest Update. I had bad batteries in the pack. After my last update, I waited a few weeks and put in another set of batteries. And after another few weeks, to my surprise, the new remote still functioned! It's been over a month now and the new remote is still kicking. I apologize for my initial response, I have no idea how half of a package of batteries can go bad...when they're all marked with the same shelf life. Never had that happen before. I included pics of the batteries, and their expiration date. Thus, I DO RECOMMEND this unit..even with its hiccups. It may be louder, and not as intuitive as the original...but it's still a worker! If the sensors can be improved, I would bump it up another star.

Limitations
It cleans better than I expected. However, the brushes aren't wide enough to gather dust and such up from its sides and so it misses everything along the edges. I am impressed with its programming and search algorithms. I may be returning it though because half my house is on the other side of a hallway return air duct it won't traverse. I'm glad it doesn't tumble down the basement stairs but could the technology be improved to tell the difference between an open void and a covered one? That'd be great. As things stand now it has to go all the way around through the passage kitchen to get to the other side of the house. It does that but then seems to have trouble finding its way back home when it runs out of juice, and I have to shepherd it back through the kitchen before it runs out of power. A good product if you have a completely open floor plan but not for me. I like it though, it's fun to watch but takes too much added attention plus the additional vacuuming I still have to do anyway. Keep trying.
