Is there a way to have it play one mp3 file per button push, and then a different mp3 file at the next push, and so on?

The sound module is designed so that it plays ALL of the files you've put onto the internal memory without needing any further interaction from the user. Think of "Mom" squeezing the belly of a stuffed animal and then the stuffed animal sings, plays music, reads a story, etc for up to 2 hours of audio without the child having to do anything to keep it going. It is however easy to add "silence" to the end of an audio file so that it seems like it's not playing for a certain amount of time. For example, if you added a minute of silence to the end of a file then it would seem like nothing is happening for one minute between the two tracks. In reality, it's still playing the audio file but since the audio file has no sound you wouldn't hear anything. Also, if you want it to stop playing after a specific audio file or sound clip, you can press the play button once to "Pause" it. The sound module will remain paused until you press the play button again or until 2 minutes have passed. If you press the play button again within those 2 minutes, the sound module will begin playing where it was paused at. If the unit remains paused for more than 2 minutes, the sound module will go into sleep mode to conserve battery power. Pressing the play button again will wake it up and it will begin playing tracks again. I hope this helps to understand how the sound module works. Is the auto turn off on a timer circuit? How does it work?

The Auto-Off (Sleep) function works like this: When the power switch is on the LOW or HIGH volume setting and the play button is pressed, it will play all of the songs you've put onto the sound module. When it finishes playing the last song/track, or if you press the play button once to pause the play, after 2 minutes of not playing anything the sound module will go into "Sleep Mode" which reduces the battery power needed to extend the life of the batteries. When the sound module is in "Sleep Mode" the sound module is waiting for you to press the play button again and will remain in this sleep state until then. When the play button is pressed, while it's in sleep mode, the sound module will wake up, read the files, and then within a few seconds start playing again. After the sound module comes out of sleep mode, it starts playing from the first file on its memory and will continue playing until it is paused or it plays the last file in its memory. If the sound module is playing and you press the button to pause it, assuming you un-pause (or hit the play button again) within 2 minutes, the unit is not yet in sleep mode so it will begin playing where it was when it was paused. When I deleted the bday song that came with the module and added my own audio, the module still only played the bday song and did not play my audio?

One additional note - please make sure the audio file you put onto the sound module is an MP3 file, NOT an MP4 which is actually a video. How do I get rid of the fuzzy static sound that's been added to my recording? (it doesn't sound like this when played on my computer or phone)

Hello Cindy, The sound of the music file should sound the same as what you hear from your computer. If you are hearing a "fuzzy static" sound it's most likely weak batteries are having a hard time playing the music. Please buy some brand new name brand batteries and switch them out. That should solve the problem.
