Evinrude Johnson Outboard Shop Manual 1.5 to 125 Hp 1956-1972 Paperback – February 1, 1989

An excellent manual for servicing your boat motor.

First, let me say that this manual is worth the buy. It does cover a lot of information. That said, I was a little disappointed by what it doesn't cover. None of the electronics are covered, while the "fuel system" which consists of a fuel tank, a cap, and a hose, is. It is unfortunate, as the wire harness is integral to the motor's function and far more likely to need service than the entirely removable "fuel system" is.

My son-in-law got into rebuilding old outboard motors, Johnson/Evinrude by choice. While much of the work is of a general mechanical nature, some specific information is desirable, especially such detail as where to find and set timing marks and adjust carburetors. I specifically searched for this type of book and we are both extremely pleased with this manual. It covers many years and models with mechanical and servicing instructions along with full wiring schematics. They are thorough and well done. We can highly recommend them.

I use this as a reference guide, while working on old outboard motors, It may not be for someone who never worked on an engine of any kind.

I have used this as a reference for tune-ups; as well as to assist in repair of fuel pump, carb, water pump, & other outboard issues... has been loaned out a few times in the neighborhood as well. Overall, a great book. If you REALLY need to get serious, a model specific shop manual may be in order.

Good to have when doing outboard maintenance. Would recommend.

I will definatly buy used manuals over paying full price for new!! The condition is excellent, I am only going to get it a dirty anyway.

Just what I needed for my old 66 Evinrude! Finding that many local mechanics flat out refuse to work on older motors, so doing self repairs, saving money, and learning about engine repair. Good book!
