The bolt pattern is not clearly shown in pictures but is such to allow for easy rotation for pull handle. The exterior body of recoil is metal material not plastic. The hub is a composite reinforced plastic with metal wings to engage flywheel. The rope diameter is approximately 4 mm that is adequate to start a 439cc motor. The rope material is not high quality yet is adequate. I purchased the whole recoil start assembly because when my original recoil broke, both the pull rope and recoil spring holding tab (part of the exterior assembly) broke at the same time. The best part of this assembly over the others is the shape of the pull handle, slightly different from the standard "T" handle.

While my model generator was listed as this item fitting, I did in fact have to enlarge and elongate the holes in order for it to be bolted to my generator. No big deal to me as I have the tools and I am sure they are trying to fit as many models as possible. Outside of this it works excellently and I have used it several time to pull start my large Champion generator

A perfect replacement for our generator. My teenage son watched a YouTube video and replaced it in about 15 minutes. I feelsilly for waiting so long to replace it.
