The ultimate amazon wallet review!
I compared 7 wallets in about 3 hours:1. Timberland Commuter Brown Bifold Leather Wallet2. Tommy Hilfiger Men's Credit Card Trifold, Black, One Size3. Dockers Mens Extra Capacity Slimfold Leather Wallet, Black, One Size4. Nautica Men's Passcase,Brown,One Size5. Levi's Mens Extra Capacity Slimfold Wallet, Brown, One Size6. Tommy Hilfiger Mens Cambridge Trifold Wallet, Brown, One Size7. Levi's Mens Trifold Two-Tone Wallet, Brown, One SizeThe Levi's wallets were the clear winners! The longer version - I finally decided to replace the wallet my grandpa gave me about 20 years ago. I've replaced parts of it a few times now, and the leather is now so streatched, that cards keep falling out. My next wallet has a lot to live up to, so i bought seven of them to compare. In my experiments, I put a full set of personal cards - and then a bunch of business cards and store cards too. I have a lot of cards.1. TIMBERLAND: 2/5 stars - poor plastic attachmentexcellent leather, suede-like, single, but neat stitchingspaces - fairly tight with 4 stacked pockets, but good2 plastic pockets on flap, stitching already coming apart on plastic8 inside pockets2 spade spaces behind inside pockets12 spaces + 1 bill space2. TOMMY BLACK TRIFOLD 2/5 stars - flawed design: too tight!excellent leather + fabric, smooth glossy, stupid logo and red, white, and blue ribbon which will fray and breakspaces - very tight, credit cards cannot fit in some spaces, not enough give in the folds to close, cannot remove cards with one hand when full1 strong, clear plastic space5 pockets on the flap2 inside pockets on the flap4 normal pockets2 spaces under normal pockets14 spaces + 1 bill space+ comes with a plastic photo/card holder insert if you want it3. DOCKERS BIFOLD 3/5 stars - cheap feeling, but excellent sizecheap plasticy leather feel, cheap feeling plasticy fabric, smooth, nice embossed logo, double stiching on frontspaces - about perfect, can remove cards with one hand3 left pockets1 space under left pockets3 flap pockets (left side)1 space under flap pockets (left side)1 strong plastic pocket on flap (right side)3 right pockets1 space under right pockets12 spaces + 1 bill space4. NAUTICA 3/5 stars - wierd spacing, but niceseems like the ultimate wallet until you fill it up; the pockets keep the cards toward the bottom leaving a wierd gap at the top, even with the "mini wallet" insert; with less cards, this wallet could be fun. the construction is excellentspaces - flexible, but not perfect, cards fit ok2 lightweight plastic, but secure, pockets in removable mini wallet-1 pocket if you want the mini wallet in one of the right pockets4 right pockets3 left pockets1 big left pocket2 hidden pockets inside the big left pocket2 spaces under right and left pockets13 spaces + 2 bill spaces+ comes with a plastic photo/card holder insert if you want it5. LEVI'S BIFOLD 5/5 starsexcellent construction, double stitching throughout, mesh is used instead of plastic to hold the id, which i believe will prevent cracking and yellowing after 10 years or so, quality, canvas like lining, "full-er" grain leather than other wallets, but still pliable, feels big in your handspaces - any card can easily be picked out with one hand. lots of room, no "plastic window" pockets, spaces where you would expect them, behind all pockets, including on both sides of the flap3 comfy pockets on the left3 on the right too2 big spaces under the left and right pockets3 pockets on the right side of the flap1 space under the right side of the flap1 space under thr left side of the flap13 spaces + 1 big bill space6. TOMMY BROWN TRIFOLD - 2/5 stars - flawed design: too tight!excellent construction, fabric logo on front is fine, smooth slightly plasticy feeling leather, spaces are too tight for the trifold design, some do not fit cards in them at all, seemingly good idea to keep id cards on the outside of the right fold - buts makes the wallet too thick to close with a lot of cards - need two hands to remove cards in pockets other than the front ones3 left spaces3 middles spaces3 right spaces3 spaces total under left, middle, and right1 clear plastic id holder on outside of right side13 spaces + 2 bill spaces+ comes with a plastic photo/card holder insert if you want it7. LEVI'S TRIFOLD 5/5 starsexcellent construction, like the levi's bifold design, but overall smaller, fits well in your hand - but like any trifold, it will budge out a littlespaces are tight, but not too tight like the tommy pockets; still need two hands to remove cards from some pockets, excellent construction, suede-like leather like the timberland4 left pockets (not two, like it could appear from the picture)1 middle mesh pocket, which opens on the right4 right pockets2 spaces under left and right pockets11 spaces + one big bill spaceOverall- both of the tommy wallets are beautifully constructed, but flawed in their design - it would be very hard to actually use these wallets b/c some of the pockets don't fit normal credit cards. plus, the black one had a stupid ribbon that would break, and a stupid metal logo- the nautica wallet looks awesome, but the spaces don't work well; you would be better off, at times, putting two cards in the space where the mini wallet fits inside - not useful- the timberland wallet has nice leather, but the plastic is cheap and the overall construction is poor, with stitching broken out of the box- the dockers wallet is slightly lighter and a millimeter shorter than the levi's bifold, but the dockers construction is shabby at best- both Levi's wallets are excellent and well sized. there is a big difference b/w the two: the bifold is roomy and sits flatter on the table when full. the trifold has tight pockets that require two hands to remove some cards, is narrower, but sits higher on the table when full, partly open. The bifold feels big your hand, and the trifold fits nicely in your hand. If you don't have more cards than the number of spaces, the trifold could be best. If you have lots of cards, the bifold could be best. The bifold is bigger and the cards slip in and out of it with one hand. Note that none of the wallets I reviewed loose cards when tossed across the room 15 feet. An advantage of any trifold is that it can fit big business checks in it. The levis bifold, however, is about 1 mm taller than the other bifolds I reviewed, so it can hold large size business checks with only a small amount of overhang. It is much easier to organize many cards in the bigger, bifold wallet. The trifold feels more "tight and secure" when closed, even though it doesn't close all the way when new + packed full of cards. The bifold feels a little big, but I may be able to get used to it - my old wallet was trifold. A minor advantage of the bifold is that the logo is embossed on the front - although the (plastic?) logo on the trifold does not seem to be a problem at all.ConclusionThe Levi's wallets are great! I'm going to try the bifold because it is bigger, holds more cards, and cards are easy to take in and out of it with one hand - but I may come back to the trifold if I ditch some cards, or I just miss the shape of the trifold that I've had for about 20 years before this one.Packaging note: The packaging on all of these was over the top, the timberland wallet was the only one in a nice, normal cardboard box; also, i might use the tins from the levis wallets

I am disappointed the the stitching holding the ID window is failing
I bought this wallet ten months ago. My wallets normally last for years. I am disappointed the the stitching holding the ID window is failing, causing cards to fall out. The wallets corners are also wearing prematurely. I agree with other reviewers who state that this is not a slimfold wallet. I am now forced to replace it.

Nice product but isn't holding up like I hoped.
I purchased this wallet on sale for $17.99 which is a pretty decent price for a leather wallet. I had hopes this would last a very long time given the reviews I read but it's starting to fall apart after a little more than a year. Some of the thinner areas of leather (or some other material) are chipping away and some threads have broken. I loaded up a few pics to demonstrate.Other thoughts:+ The main leather parts are rugged and really softened up over time and also developed a nice patina.+ The size is just what I was looking for.- The card slots are not all the same size.- The mesh screen over the ID holder is very difficult to see through. I prefer this to a plastic cover which can fade, scratch etc. over time but the mesh is still not quite clear enough.

wallet lasted two years...
I bought this wallet due to price. After two years of daily use here's what I have found.1) stitching around id-holder fell apart after about a month.2) There is some sort of finish on the leather that starts peeling off. See photo of the state of wallet after two years of use. I guess it's technically leather, but it's low quality leather with some sort of synthetic finish to make it look like a decent quality leather product. On the plus side, It's cheap, looks good, and holds quite a few cards. but isn't the most durable. If you do get this, expect to replace it every year and a half to two years.

Bad quality absolutely ruined the product
First of all, I will say that my previous experience with other brands of wallets are pretty good. Usually, I have had wallets last 2-4 years on average and that is how long I expect them to last.I picked this wallet up on Black Friday 2015 for $12.50, and figured I would take a chance on it, and I was very wrong. Few things about it:THE GOOD:+The wallet does feel nice in the hand+It kept my cards safe and snug.THE BAD:-The mesh cover for the license holster was one of the worst I have seen. I literally had to take it out every time I wanted to show it to anyone. It also started to break and come undone. I will say I never lost my license, but it came dangerously close to falling out a few times and was one of the main reasons I replaced it.-The sides are starting to crumble really bad, and the stitching is coming undone at a rapid pace. Keep in mind I am not very rough with my wallets, and the wallet was never accidentally washed. I uploaded a picture of the wallet to show what I am talking about.I really wanted to like this product, and for the first 5 months it was fine. However, when it started to come undone is when the entire wallet started to break rapidly. Would stay away from big time and get a better item.

Good wallet at a good price
This was a nice wallet at a very good price. It was at least half the price of the dark brown and black versions. It has plenty of space for credit cards and the ID pocket is mesh instead of plastic. My old wallet had the plastic cover with an opening to help remove the ID. The edge of the opening went right through my license number so you couldn't read it. I would have to wrestle my license out of there every time someone needed my license number. It sounds trivial but it was the main reason to get a new one. It fits comfortably in my back pocket and didn't take long to break in. My only complaint and reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is when I tore off the tag on the inside, part of the trim came off with it (see the picture, right above my finger). Hopefully it won't cause the wallet to come apart but only time will tell. I'd buy it again and just be more careful removing the tag.
