Keeps the water line on the tile coping perfectly clean with no scrubbing required.
I use this every six months to keep the calcium build up of the pool tiles and rock water falls. Works great, no scrubbing required.

Pool white line cleaner
I've tried a lot of products and many do not work very well. BEAUTEC has worked better than anything i've tried...it softens the scale and then makes it dramatically easier to clean. Still requires some scrubbing to remove it but the labor is vastly reduced. I'm putting it in my pool regularly now.

Beware using with Pooltec or Algaetec
I am sorry that I added this to my pool water as a preventative scale treatment. Prior to adding the product, I had crystal clear water. I thought this was a safe product because it says it won't change pool chemistry, and it is safe to swim immediately after adding it. I added two bottles, per package directions for a 40 k gallon pool. My pool water turned very cloudy within minutes. It is somewhat better today, but still not great. I talked to a customer representative (McGrayel will refer you to your regional sales guy, not a true tech advisor), and he told me that I overdosed the pool. Um, I followed package directions. The rep said that eventually the water should clear, but it will take some time. Meanwhile, the pool is cloudy, the water feels "sticky," it's the hottest day of the year, and I have guests coming. I will have to change the filters every other day or so as the product is filtered out. So I have nothing but aggravation for my $.Update, later today: A tech rep from McGrayel called me. Apparently the problem is not that I overdosed my pool, but that I added this product too soon after adding Algatec, another McGrayel product. These products should be added a week apart, as the negative ions on one and the positive ions on another will cause cloudy water. The good news is that the cloudiness should go away (and it appears to be doing so), and I will still get the benefits from both products. So I am glad the rep contacted me, and glad that all will be well... but hope that McGrayel will add a warning about spacing of product dosing to their label.

How do you really know if "snake oil" works?
I don't know if this magic elixir actually does anything, but it makes me feel better.I mean seriously. How do you know if this (sorry dudes) snake oil does what it claims?A whole gallon of scaletec. Half a gallon of Beautec... Raised water above hardness line for several weeks.Calcium deposits didn't go away on their own.I'm not sure it made it easier. But hopefully, once I get the mess off the stones, it will keep it from coming back.BTW: Despite claims of "protecting SWCG", mine still pukes just as many white flakes when it cleans itself. We'll see if it clogs twice a year like normal.BTW 2: I called the maker. They forwarded me to "my" distributor. All he would say was its a sequestrant and some magic stuff that works at the molecular level to dissolve existing scale. The sequestrant is for CH, and metals.BTW-3: Does anyone know what really works for removing calcium and haze?I have natural stone (quartzite) set in mortar, instead of tiles. The stones all have a haze above and below waterline.Grout has a haze to it.The grout is full of white deposits.Things are stubborn.Everything looks great when it's wet (all you see is white deposits in grout). The stones look great, the grout looks great. Water hides the haze.Almost like I want a stone color enhancer, but I doubt they would handle the pool environment.
