NOT large enough for a Westie
Purchased for a ~12# Westie, ironically almost identical to the product image provided. She fit but only after some serious dog yoga. Bottom line - not practical for any dog over say 8#. Otherwise it seems to be a quality pack, no complaints other than sizing info provided.

Great Product!
Very nice product. Allows for speeding down hills on my bike with complete confidence my little Deer Chihuahua is secure inside with his head poking out. People on my local bike trail are always giving him "AWWW's" and laughs.A couple of cons :-The pockets on the sides of the bag are not trustworthy with valuable such as, wallets or phones as they are not too deep or secure.-And the mesh is not entirely breathable for my little guy, so I periodically have to take him out, and let him cool off. I'm also in basically the sunniest and hottest part of California. (So remember your pup can get easily overheated in this bag in warmer climates)-There is a learning curve for you and your pet on getting them comfortably in the bag and situated. (He was very nervous and unwilling at first, but after a few rides he can't wait to get in!)

NOT for a cat!
The carrier is well-constructed and good quality. I got it, though, for my 12-lb. Siamese cat, who is very mellow and cuddly, so she could ride in the airplane with me. Trying her out in it around the neighborhood and at a restaurant was not a success.Problem 1: Not big enough at the base. Front-to-back is just too shallow, and it thus holds her flat against my tummy and chest, which makes her want to turn facing me.Problem 2: There is no flap to cover the head hole, and the drawstring only cinches it to about 1.5", so she wants to squirm her face into the hole so she can look around, and if things are over stimulating, that is bad. The drawstring also does not stay put under a determined cat head pushing outwards!Problem 3: the interior tether is elastic and stretches to 8" or more. So when she squirms her head out, gets freaked out by a giggly child, and tries to jump out, she winds up bungee jumping from her harness. The plastic clip that attaches the tether to the harness's D-ring also is very stiff and that makes it difficult to attach to the harness of a squirming cat.I gave this to a friend for her pug.

Snug fit
I got this bag so I could carry my little dog if she got too tired on long hikes. I was previously using a regular backpack. This bag didn't work out so great though. It was a little snug for my dog. She's a larger chihuahua, about 12 lbs.

Too small, don't believe what you read.
I read all the reviews and was sold because people said a 12 pound dog could fit. Not so! I have a normal 12 pound Yorkshire Terrier who wouldn't fit in this thing if I folded him in half and sat on it. Looks great, well made but large is small and small is is for a hamster. Very disappointed.

It's perfect for small dogs
It's perfect for small dogs.My baby is an Schnauzer...8 months and weight 16pounds...the bag is too small for him.I gave it to my best friends, she owns a Yorkie (weight 8punds), it fits perfect!

I like that my dogs weight goes evenly on both shoulders
I've tried many bags before choosing this one. First of all, I like that my dogs weight goes evenly on both shoulders. Second, it's the only bag that my dog doesn't choke on the opening for her head. All the other dog bags I've tried I had to return because she had to sit up for her neck to be not choked my the bag. But this one she's comfy and so am I.
