Stones look and feel MAGNIFICENT!
This product is an absolute must if you're serious about getting into hot stone massage. Everything has been crafted to make experience absolutely seamless and enjoyable. The stones have quite a nice natural-earthy kind of look and feel to them. I personally think they work better than my other basalt stones because they seem to stay warm longer and warm up so much quicker. When covered in oil they glide really well, and their shape makes it so it's easy to hold in my palm as I give the massage. In the photos I posted you can see that they turn a rich dark grey after a single application of massage oil. They are also really smooth. People who don't use oil are not following instructions on how to give the massage properly. The case is jet-black in color and looks great on my table. And the heat shield lives up to its promise - the outside doesn't heat through. I like that all the stones fit inside, so when I am not using them, they are out of the way and always ready to go. I have also been able to transport the unit to clients homes for mobile massages without fuss. Its also very easy to clean - I just unplug it and run a towel over the heating plates. There's a guide to giving hot stone massages that is included which is actually quite useful. I was thinking of getting a book, but this has been more than good enough to get me started. The only thing I would add however is a second set of stones. I emailed Zenstone asking when additional stone sets would be in stock on Amazon and they said early December 2018, so I'll pick up a set soon. Fantastic purchase!

Love my Zen Stone set!
I bought this hot stone set almost a year ago and they have been awesome. I had just started my own practice and the office space I got wasn't going to allow for a typical hot stone roaster set up. I thought about the salt stones but opted for these because they were easy for me to afford. I'm very pleased with them! They heat up quickly, are easy to clean and look cute on my table. I have had a lot of compliments from my clients on them too. I highly recommend;)

I thought the stones would be smoother
I like the idea of a hot stone massage in my home as needed, but not sure this product is the same as a professional would use. The stones are very porous and it seems to take a lot of oil for a short time massaging a small area. The stones stay warm, but the longer you leave them in the case turned on, the hotter they get; Very hot!

Amazing
I bought one and loved it so much that I insisted that my Chiropractor that I work for get one for each room. Then as my personal business expanded we aquired one for every treatment room. It makes it easy to integrate stones into every massage as needed to save your hands and your clients love it. Clean up is easy and convenient. When I just use a few on a client I put them on a towel instead of back in the warmer. I wash them and my hands I'm ome swoop and put them back in the already warm heater. By the time my next client is on the table they are already back to hot! Downfall I need 2 to really do a full body treatment. I gate walking to grab stone from where I plugged it in and I like them to be really hot and switch them out a lot.

Saves space! Saves time!
My massage room is "space-challenged " and the small sink I have access to is in a different room. Using basalt stones with a wet bath was challenging. My old stone warmer is larger, and removing the reservoir for cleaning was cumbersom. In the summer, a conventional stone warmer heats up a room & adds humidity. The Zenstone clamshell design is small yet highly functional. The stones heat quickly, and the temperature is optimum. The stones seem to "lose heat" a tad bit faster than the basalt stones that I normally use, but the *plus* is that the temp between the stones is more consistent because they are machined to a uniform thickness. Once oiled, the anticipated drag was not a problem.(These stones do seem a little less smooth than basalt. To the client, however, this is not noticeable. (My first treatment was performed on a massage therapist, to get her opinion.) If the manufacturer were to offer a second set of stones, that would be ideal~ so if I were to have back-to-back clients, I could switch to the second set of stones. However, since the cleanup with Zenstones is so easy, the second stone set is just a "nice to have" not a "need to have." The only design issue is that the plastic feet on the bottom slide & don't grip. I am going to get a rubber mat of some type to solve that problem.

Great ease of use
I like the portableness of this stone warmer— it is light and compact. It heats quickly and comes with quality flat stones that I enjoy working with. The stones hold heat well.

Heats quickly and hot!
These are better than the small clamshell stone warmers at the massage studio where I am working. They heat quickly and at a higher temp so may need to allow to cool off a bit before use on clients. I find them perfect. The stones retain their heat for a long time. The smaller clamshells don’t seem to heat quickly enough or get hot enough so they end up cooling off too quickly.

Do not buy if you're looking for quality
Do not like these stones. I came on here to see what I paid, thinking I went the cheap route and they were 40 or 50 bucks. Not worth the 100+ I spent. I'm a massage therapist and thought these would be great for my mobile services. I would be better off not offering hot stone on mobile services which is what I ended up doing. Even in the office they suck. Dont hold heat and are not easy to work with. Cleaning them is a pain as the oils do not come out easily. They're not black, they are gray and white. Youd be better off ordering a real stone set and using an old crock pot if you're on a budget. Wish I could return but I used them a couple times to see if I could make them work. they are just sitting in my closet now. The shell packaging they come in is cheap and the rocks themselves are cheap as well..
