simply love it
I recently tried the Shan Butter Chicken Seasoning Mix, and it made cooking butter chicken at home super easy and flavorful. The spice blend is spot-on, with all the right flavors you’d expect from authentic butter chicken. It’s got a nice balance of warmth, richness, and a hint of sweetness, which makes the dish taste like it came from a restaurant. The seasoning packet is very convenient—you just follow the instructions on the back, and you’re good to go. It works perfectly with chicken, butter, cream, and tomatoes, creating that classic, creamy sauce. Definitely a great option if you’re looking for an easy way to bring a delicious Indian dish into your kitchen!

Decent flavor but not very convenient
This Butter Chicken Seasoning Mix has a decent flavor and the spices taste fairly authentic. However, you still need to add several extra ingredients to make the dish, which makes it less convenient than expected. It works if you already have everything at home, but it’s not as quick or simple as other seasoning mixes. Overall, it’s okay but could be more convenient.

Just okay
I eat a lot of Indian food. Usually I use the individual spices but decided to give this a try. Firstly it is incredibly salty. It surprised me and I hadn’t added any additional salt. It’s also very very spicy. On a scale of 1-10 I’d probably put it at a 7. I ended up adding a whole cup of cream total just to get it to a palatable point. It was also missing a certain flavor. I tweaked the recipe once I tasted it the way the box suggested and added the full cup of cream instead of the half, I added a tablespoon of sugar and a tablespoon of Garam masala and a tablespoon of crushed fenugreek leaves. Once I tweaked it we were able to eat it for dinner. Don’t think I’ll buy it again but with the other 2 boxes I’ll probably only use a small amount of the seasoning as a marinade
