Are the boards stable enough indoors without the anchors?

they are pretty stable. I bought them for indoors, so my grand son could pick them up and that it with him to friends house

Would this work well at the beach or would the wind flip it over?

Wind would most likely flip them over but you could weight the bottom down with sand or something, then would probably be fine.
