Great little carrying case!
This is a great little bag. I have a wireless mic that switches between an indoor and an outdoor system and this is the perfect. It has easy to carry handles and also a shoulder strap for longer distances or times when I need to use my hands to carry other things. I set it up with a fender passport so the fact that is is 1U is perfect, I’m not trying to put anything else in there. The zippers are heavy duty and run smoothing. One of the zipper pulls fell off but that was easy to fix.

Awsome case for our needs / Updated 2/21/23
We need a lighter solution to carry a 1U server from site to site and this fit the bill. The sewn on handles are very strong and will support the weight of the server well. The shoulder strap clasps might be a little too weak due to our weight of the server but may also serve someone else well. You could always purchase a shoulder strap with more heavy duty hasps as well.Had an issue with the bracket support rivets sheering off. There's only one small rivet on each bracket and if you have something heavy (like a server for us) in there the first time there as any downward force they will sheer off. I replaced the rivets with 1/4-20 1" bolts and locking nylon nuts so it wont happen again.

I've owned several of these.
Over the years I've gone through a few of these cases. They generally hold up well and protect the gear. I use them for individually racked 2 channel wireless mic units... They have an inner pocket in the front flap for your antennas, and a big pocket on top for the mics and belt packs. They have fairly heavy duty zippers, which I like. I've have other brands with cheaper zippers that bust and render the case useless. I get a lot of use out of these, and I'm tough on them. They ride around trucks full of gear, get used in outdoor environments, etc... Any damage or malfunction I experience, is generally due to my use of the case. Because I've gone through a few of them, I now take extra steps to take a little better care of them. They are easy to clean if they get dirty or have a drink spilled on them... usually just a wet rag will do the trick. They are not designed to stack because of the out pockets. Anyway...I get a lot of use out of these... they are very functional and durable... I highly recommend it.

Great case
This case is extremely useful for the travelling one space rack unit. The cord pouch on the front is really useful for cords and pedals. So far I have used it to transport a single space bass preamp to and from gigs. I fit my tuner pedal and cords in the front pocket easily. Don't look like an amateur and show up at a gig with loose rack gear, invest in a quality case like this one. The two factors you may want to consider before purchasing are: there is no clearance above or below the rack space, so as a result any heat from your rack gear will be absorbed by the lining. I have used a tube preamp which gets warmish, and it has not caught fire or started melting anything in the many hours I have used it. The second issue is this case is very deep, so a shallow rack device may present problems when you try to attach cords. It helps if you have the cords inserted before you rack the device. Overall, this product has come in handy in many situations.

Nice case
They call it soft, but this is very tough. I think a truck could run over it and the equipment would be undamaged. It must be wrapped in some kind of steel casing. (I did not run over it with a truck to test my impression.) The material is also very tough. You can screw a one-space piece of equipment into it. Once screwed in, the equipment is not going to budge. Screws were included.

Hard to find a company that makes a 1-space rack! Nice item!
This is a great product. Love how sturdy the zipper closes on each end are. And the velcro tabs for when you want the ends open are well thought out. The LARGE zipper pocket!! Can fit a LOT of stuff in that pocket (cables, etc). Pretty DEEP rack - so remember to plug in all your cables and power cord BEFORE screwing the unit into the front frame. Your wrist will likely be too big to plug things in after. Remember - only 1 rack space here. GREAT product! I use it for a single space stereo graphic EQ for my InEar Monitors.

Solid case!
This is a solid, well constructed case. I'm pleasantly surprised. Cloth, zippers, straps, etc are sturdy. The outside pocket is big enough for plenty of cables or even mics. Though I wouldn't want to keep the mics in the outside pocket. My wireless unit is only 8 inches deep, so there's plenty of room in the back of the case for me to keep the mics. I wrapped them in a foam wrap, so they actually fit quit snuggly between the top and the bottom of the case and don't slide around. Some have said it is a tight squeeze to reach your hand in and plug in your power cord or cables and I can appreciate that, but it's not a deal breaker.I'm happy with this purchase!

Good protection
Nice case to protect my mic system during transport. I wish it was a little less wide (or have a smaller version). My wireless mic receiver only takes up about half the space.

Not recommended for the Focusrite 18i20
This case has a major flaw that makes it much less viable as a solution for those wanting a case for the Focusrite 18i20, or any rackmount unit that is going to fall considerable short of the end of the space inside. As the handle is on the shorter side rather than the longer side of the case, it means that when you pick it up with the handle or the strap, the weight is distributed so the weight is pointing towards one of the bottom corners. The simplest way I can describe it is that when you pick it up, the bag leans forwards and it feeling that all the weight is on the one end of the handles. This could have been solved by putting the handles and strap on the longer side, which seems a lot more logical to me. Also, bearing in mind that 1U racks are more likely to be swapped out of this case, would it be too much to ask for some rubber washers to avoid scratching up the rackmount plates? I put the thing in, saw it was no good to me, took it straight out and the rack mount holes were really heavily scratched. The generally quality is passable, but it does not seem very durable. If you were carting this on tour, or on video shoot sets I think you would find the handles become a nuisance, and the strap is lightweight. There are certainly more durable fabrics out there which I think may have made a better covering for this product.Seeing as this is the only 1U soft rack case around there is not much choice, and the pricing seems to show that SKB are aware of this, the 1U being more expensive than the 2U options. Will someone step up and make a bag that does the job, or better still, something specifically for the 18i20? Or SKB, will you come out with a product that is better than this?
