This is a beautiful kitchen tool. It's too bad it broke on the second use. I certainly know how to use a can opener correctly, but for all its beauty, the crank lever is held onto the axle with a plastic compression nut that breaks quite easily. A small bit of paper from the can's label got caught in the turning gear and the crank just snapped right off at the least bit of resistance.Save yourself the trouble and buy the Swing-A-Way. I had remarked about how my grandmother's can opener had lasted her for decades. When she died, my mother took it. When my mother died, I didn't think much about small items like that, so it just got lost in the shuffle. I was so young, I didn't yet realize how valuable a good can opener is. I was surprised to learn that Swing-A-Way was still in business, and their products are as good as ever. They're less expensive too. It sounds ridiculous, but those are heirloom quality can openers.

I apparently had some really busted A manual opener before, because it hurt my heart to want, say, tuna or soup and know I was going to have to go up against my can opener who seemed to really be against doing its literal one job.I finally drop kicked it into the dumpster (pro tip: make sure nobody is within hitting distance) and ordered this bad boy. Honestly I just liked the color scheme as I presumed all can openers would be just as crotchety as the one I just chucked. But I learned, #notallcanopeners, and I'm thrilled at the new world and all its possibilities open to me now. I throw cans into my cart with great delight now, knowing I can actually open them later. Oh happy day.It actually IS a very smooth experience, no jumping or sticking. *choir sings*

I wanted something to match my home and so far it’s opening cans the way one would want it to! My only fear is there’s a wobble to it that makes me think it may not last long but nothing to scare me yet. As long as my cans open I’m a happy girl

You know the feeling you get when you use a can opener and you get that smooth, non forceful, clean open. Well, that is exactly what you get with this opener. No struggle to twist the handle. No jumping off the can and having to reapply. Nice and smooth cut. With the added benefit of style!

EDIT: so we have had this can opener now for a couple months and it has started to not work smoothly. When opening a can it will get stuck and miss parts of the can opening, causing us to have to go back and forth multiple times and hope it’ll cut the can. Very disappointed because I loved the style and color of this can opener. It’s now too late to return this product so we will now have to buy a new one.So far this has proven to be very sturdy and durable; we’ve had it for a little over a month now and have used it a dozen times. I am obsessed with the color of this can opener; lol it’s the littlest things that make me happy! The handles are comfortable to grip and the opener is pretty sharp at opening the cans. It doesn’t catch either. For the price and cuteness it’s a great addition to my kitchen!

Its such a cute kitchen tool but is not strong enough or sharp enough to effectively open cans. Sometimes it works well enough to at least get the can open but other times it's slips off and will not open the can at all. Any dent in the can (which is something that just happens) throws it off and it cannot continue around the lip of the can. I really tried to give it a good try and so I missed my return window.

So happy with this hand opener!! Its very well made! Its actually better than my kitchen made one that broke after 2 years! I paid 1/3 the price for this one and its a beautiful color! And is super heavy duty also has two glass bottle openers on top and a hole so can be hung up. Just so darn happy with!!

I had this delivered as i thought it was a quality option with great colours, but it doesnt connect well with cans, doesn't bite, so to speak. And now has totally broken on the job. Hopefully it is just a one off faulty one. If it opened tins it would be perfect!

Product broke before we even removed it from packaging. Amazing did refund is though.
