I had ordered the timer knob for my dryer that broke. I was without a dryer for about two weeks and it was not fun. the new one came and my husband put it on the dryer and the first day i used it I did three loads of laundry and no problem. It was about 4-5 days later and laundry day came again. The first load I put in the dryer and went to set the time to dry and the new knob broke. It had cracked just like the one that had been on the dryer for about fifteen years. I am again without a dryer. I have to have my husband us a pliers to turn the knob and then its a guessing game as to how long it is set for. I can't see buying a new dryer just because the knob is broke so what is a person to do?

My dryer just quit starting. I was ready to replace the timer or maybe the dryer itself. I found an article about a cracked control knob, so I checked mine. Sure enough, it was cracked just like others who had the same problem. Ordered a new knob from Amazon and received it the next day. The problem is common and people writing about it saved me a lot of time and probably a lot of cash. Problem fixed for under 10 bucks and did not have to tear apart my laundry room to be able to repair the dryer. Thanks to all who led me in the right direction !!!

This did not fit my Hotpoint HTDX100EM8WW, I couldn't even force it on anymore than I tried or it would have broken the knob or the timer itself as so many people have reported.I ordered a genuine GE knob and it fit perfectly.

This was a replacement piece and it broke within 2 weeks.

This product is great

At first I thought the timer was bad, but the UTUBE Video said to pull the timer knob off and see if the housing was cracked. Lucky me...spend a few extra dollars and get the genuine replacement part.

Fits right, easy to install. Arrow and knob are not aligned perfectly hence 4 stars not 5 but works as should, easy to adjust the dial a little to make up for the slight imperfection.

Product is working but was extremely hard to put on & it is misaligned & it feels as if it will break if I try to make any corrections. As a result I can't use my longest drying cycle time
