Masterpiece!
Stunning Picture & Low Glare: The QD-Mini LED display is breathtaking. It delivers deep blacks, rich colors, and phenomenal contrast whether you are in a pitch-black room or a sun-drenched living area. The anti-reflective screen handles ambient light beautifully, resulting in very little glare (Attached image shows the glare from the recessed lighting but it does not affect viewing quality). Surprisingly Excellent Sound: Unlike most modern flat-screens, the built-in audio is genuinely impressive. Dialogue is crystal clear, and the bass has actual depth, so you won't feel forced to buy a soundbar right away. Unbeatable Price & Value: This is easily one of my best Black Friday purchases. Factoring in the 10% Amazon Prime cashback, I snagged it for around $1,258 before tax. Even though the newer 9 series is already on the market, this model remains a home theater masterpiece and is an absolute must-buy to watch out for during Black Friday or Prime Day sales. This review is being posted after 100 days of use. Quick Tip - Eye Strain & Bias Lighting: The screen gets unbelievably bright out of the box, which might cause some initial eye strain. Simply dial back the brightness, blue light, and backlight settings to match your room. I highly recommend adding bias lighting (a simple LED strip placed directly on the back of the TV) to completely eliminate dark-room eye strain and make the on-screen contrast pop even more!

Great picture!
What a great TV. Excellent Picture and easy to navigate. Set-up was easy by following recommendations found on the internet for best viewing experience. Price was outstanding. Color is great and old black and white movies and TV programs are very pleasurable to watch. The big screen really brings out the details of old cars, buildings and styles of the times. If you have the wall and space, I will highly recommend this TV.

I canโt say enough about this television
Our 65 inch 4K edge-lit UHD Samsung was overly dark during a lot of movies and television shows, and I knew I needed something with higher top end on the brightness scale. I did a ton of research on mini LED, quantum LED and OLED sets and went with this one because of the ability to handle bright rooms, large number of dimming areas to reduced blooming, the high refresh rate for handling motion, and the outstanding color response. If you read the high definition television forums around the Internet, this television gets high praise. Iโve had it running for a few weeks and a half and Iโm absolutely in love with it. It does not have a matte screen, it is not reflective even when off. More importantly, the blacks are dark and bold, tje colors pop, there are no motion artifact or blooming, and it even has a decent sound. The Google TV interface is also very responsive and more intuitive than the Tizen interfaces of our Samsungs. My wife is currently watching the avatar movies and sheโs sitting there mouth at quality of the picture. I highly recommend this television, especially when you can get it for under $1000 on sale. The task shows the new TCL on the right, and the 4K Samsung on the left.

Great TV buuuuuuuuut.
TV is great. Looks great, sounds great except for........ - The built in Hulu app is terrible. Menu is slow to respond. Audio/video do not sync. Some shows are out of sync more than others. All the other apps the audio/video sync perfectly. The issue is only with the Hulu app. TCL support is of no use as their suggestions would only relate if all audio/video regardless of app was out of sync. Since its just the Hulu app, I am stuck using a Roku box to run Hulu. Very disappointed in this. I'm still giving this 4 stars because I believe Hulu is being replaced w/Disney in the near future so hopefully this is a short lived issue. On a positive note, the picture is absolutely amazing, worth it just for the picture. But the audio quality coming from TV is great too. Great enough I don't feel I need to look into a soundbar. It lacks bass but that should be expected.

Mind blowing picture quality and deep blacks
Before getting this TV I had done some research into what Mini LED tv gives the best bang for your buck, this one competes with OLEDs no problem and has insane brightness! The blacks are deep and most of the time I think the TVs off are whenever there is a scene with a lot of darkness. Itโs insane how crystal clear the quality is. The TV speakers are also pretty solid but I have it hooked up to a sound system. Google TV interface works well, itโs not laggy. Iโm beyond impressed with the QM8K, watch some reviews on YouTube to really see a more detailed breakdown of how much of a powerhouse this thing is.

Good onboard audio, fantastic picture.
Today is day two of having this TV. I honestly can't say enough good things about it. I got it on sale for black Friday on a whim and I don't regret a dime of my purchase. First of all, (this is my ignorance talking now) "Flat panel TV's cannot have good on board audio!". Holy cow was I absolutely wrong! I had purchased a sound bar/subwoofer setup for this TV and I'm taking it back! The bang and Olufsen speakers on this device are absolutely banging. Are they movie surround imax in depth drive your butt cheeks crazy sound? No, but I'm old so I don't really care much about having 14 speakers to deal with anymore. Just the shear fact of not having a second remote is making me absolutely happy. There's definitely bass and there's definitely trebile. Dialogue is crisp and music has enough depth for background audio. The picture. Holy moly, I've been rolling in 1080 land for the past 15 years. In fact my Panasonic plasma 720p was just fine for 10 of those years. I just watched an 8k Dolby video on YouTube and I could see details that I didn't know were possible on a tv. That being said, (keep in mind I don't watch sports) there is a bit of screen tearing on a lot of action and fast moving scenes. It detracts a bit from the over all immersion but not enough for me to take away a star as my expectations coming into this purchase were very minimal. You can buy an extended 4 year warranty from TCL for an additional $400. But if I have to pay $1500 (tax) for a TV to work for four years worry free, I won't be buying another TCL. I'll update as necessary in the future, like if this guy fails in anyway, or if the speakers start degrading, but as of today I can't recommend this TV enough.

I Have Been Missing Out on How Far TV's Have Come and Didn't Know It
Best TV I've ever owned. Only had it two days now but I'm blown away by the picture quality especially streaming apps like Netflix and Amazon Prime. Watching movies in Dolby Vision is incredible. I feel like I"m finally getting my money's worth out of my Xbox Series X console. Playing Video Games in 120mhz is night and day. My only regret is that I haven't upgraded my TV before because I surely was missing out. This TV is great, its very close to OLED quality watching movies in FIlm-maker mode for a significant discount. I love this TV, it gets great reviews for a reason. Not one regret purchasing this. Coming from a 70" Vizio 4K that was about 8 years old, this 65" is leaps and bounds ahead of in Technology. 4 HDMI Inputs (2 4K 120mhz and 2 4K 60mhz), HDMI ARC, Great Remote Control, Google TV can't beat this.

Know what you're getting.
Really solid tv. I wouldn't say this tv is worth it's retail price, but if you can manage under $1000 it's a slam dunk. One knock is the upscaling. Anybody doing their research knows this is true of this model anyways. You're not buying a flagship TCL and expecting the upscaling capability of a flagship Sony. That being said, it was below expectation. For weeks I've been trying to see any difference in reducing noise and gradation and have failed to see anything. I appreciate all the customizations in this category they provide, but I failed to see any improvement no matter the combination of settings. Motion is actually better than expected. When you don't ask the tv to do much it works very smooth with sports. Just setting it to low worked perfect. Motion + upscaling was kind of a nightmare for sports. Produces a lot of artifacts specifically around motionless objects while the camera is moving. Like a score bug. Actually creates tons of noticeable artifacts like the screen glitches. Brightness and Color along with HDR is VERY impressive. This is why you are buying this tv. I can confirm this is bright room certified. Placed opposite a large window. This screen gets bright enough that I can't tell theres a window behind me. The blacks... omg the blacks. I have never used an OLED before but this has gotta be close.. the uniformity is crazy. Low quality content will produce more blooming but 4k content has crazy blacks. The customizability is almost perfect. People need the ability to create their own custom presets and rename them. This tv has the capability to make anything look good. (Minus low quality content) With a little time it should be easy to simply press a few buttons to get to your preference without having to change sliders and settings. All in all. I'm very satisfied. You have to know what you're getting here. If you're expecting this to rival the flagship Sony televisions you will be disappointed. If you want OLED-like brightness, color, and blacks. This is fantastic. I've done some 4k gaming on this. Not a lot to really justify any critiques but I had zero issues. You're getting the benefits listed above with 4k@120hz. Can't go wrong there. Only wish it had one more 4k@120hz port. I understand this is next year model benefit.
