Sony WH-CH700N Wireless Noise Canceling Over-the-Ear Headphones - Black (Renewed)

Great "Average Joe" headpones
So to preface, if your looking for noise canceling, look elsewhere. While they do ok blocking out lower constant tones (like ventilation, motors, and maybe water running in the next room), they suck at blocking out voices which isn't good if you want to use them in public for their noise cancellation. That said, I would say that they fit well and since they're over ear they do have a pretty decent "seal" which does more for noise cancellation than the actual noise cancellation setting does. That said, these things have little problem cutting out the outside world, they're loud. I usually listen to apple ear-pods at about 80% volume, no louder because they start vibrating and sounding like trash. But with these I have them at about 40% volume and when I lift an ear cup people will comment on how loud my music is. I would not recommend listening to these headphones at full volume for an extended period of time. They do come with an audio jack (and cord) if you want to run them wired maybe to a laptop or if they run out of battery. But I usually just turn them on and start listening. Once they're in your phone's known devices, it takes about 5 seconds to turn them on and for them to connect. I have only had one slight skip in the music and I've listened to these for about 40 hours. These things have a 30 foot connection range no matter what's in the way, and a 50ish foot range if there's nothing hindering them. I have an Iphone 7 btw. I didn't notice any latency when watching youtube, so that's also good. Build quality: they have metal on the headband, but the rest is plastic or fake leather. All good unless you plan on wearing them into a combat zone. They swivel about 120 degrees so they should be able to fit most heads (other headphones I have had didn't fit me so good), and they have audible clicks while your extending the headband, so you can count and make sure it's even. Only thing accessory wise that I would like is a case, but that's a 10-20 dollar purchase so not such a big deal. Also an Iphone lightning adapter for the audio cord would be nice in 2018, but it's not sony's fault that apple decided to go against the industry standards just so they can sell a couple million 10 dollar adapters or make everyone go out and buy a new pair of earpods. Anyways, lastly comes the most important part...the sound. I am no audiophile, but these sound better than anything else I've listened too for more than a minute. And the reason I went with these is they have the app that allows you to adjust the sound to your liking. It works well enough for me. Overall, maybe look to a different place if noise canceling is what you want, but for just a solid overall pair of wireless headphones with an app that allows you to easily customize sound, then these are for you. In the future ill probably look into upgrading to Sony's premium model: the WH-1000xm3 (and their names suck btw). But for now these will do the job. Thanks for reading if you've made it this far.Update: So I’ve been using these nearly every day that I’ve had them. None of my opinions have changed about these and I have taken them on a couple long road trips. The only problems I ever run into is occasional connection failure. It’s only once every couple days and it’s probably as much (or more) the phones fault than the headphone’s. And it is always solved by simply shutting down both devices.

Good for the price! One issue.
Headphones look brand new, except for the box, it was beat up pretty bad. They sound good, noise canceling is okay , but for the price what do you expect. One issue I’m having they keep dropping bluetooth connection. I’m going to try them a few more days , I may have to return them. Hope not.

Would not pair
Headphones wouldn't pair. I tried on 2 devices and even downloaded the app. No device found. No I have to go through the hassle of sending them back and waiting on a refund.

Excellent product!!!!
Not much to say, they are Sony. Excellent product, excellent sound, you can use it for hours and they are not a nuisance, the charging time is quite good, the battery is amazing, the cancellation of sound is very good, do not wait for the "cone of silence", but the cancellation Sound is effective in low background sounds. It even has several modalities for cancellation of sound based on an artificial intelligence system. With the latest update , the ch700n works with Google Assistant. Excellent indeed, especially if you buy refurbished here on amazon. They work without batteries with the LINE OUT. There is no difference in the sound quality when the NOISE CANCELING is On or OFF. The negative point is that they do not bring any kind of case. You can buy one here in Amazon for $ 7.

Inexpensive true active noise canceling
I bought these to help with distraction. The active noise canceling works well, no they are not Bose quality but for the $79 I paid they do the job. Music sounds terrific too. Would recommend for adhd/autism and all music lovers.

Great bang for the buck
If you are looking for a pair of well priced, well built, great sounding bluetooth headphones these are perfect. If you really, really good want noise cancelling you probably want to look elsewhere.Pros:- No problems connecting via Bluetooth.- Nice looking headphones, a lot better build quality than I expected better than a lot of other more expensive units.- Good battery life.- Cool space-age voice when using the controls (yes I know I am a nerd).- Great sound and LOUDCons:- Skip/play slider was a little annoying at first, a bit sensitive but you get use to it.- Noise cancelling is not great. To give some context when I first put the headphones on (with no music playing) I thought I had noise-cancelling disabled up until I hit the NC button and a voice said the noise cancelling was turning off. After toggling the noise cancelling a few more times I realized the headphones were actually noise cancelling, just not as well as I had hoped. They do a good job of blocking low-frequency background noise, so with them on I cannot hear my computer fans or HVAC blowers, etc. They really don't do anything to people talking, TV in the next room, etc. That said pretty much all the noise goes away when I start playing music. Whether the noise cancelling is designed for music or the headphones just drown out the background noise I am not sure.Overall very pleased with the headphones. They sound great, look very good, and are well priced. Noise cancelling could be better but for the price they exceed my expectations.
