Value Scale Board book – January 1, 2016

Incredibly helpful, very useful, and precise. I am so thankful to have found this reference for Munsell greys! I am an oil painter, and have used various value scales over the years. I already owned most of the scales out there. I was looking for a scale that was based on Munsell, and that is how I found this one. Accuracy was important to me and also and ease of use. When mixing greys in even steps from light to dark, I have found the inclusion of a half step scale to be very useful. When I’ve needed to make a precise mixture, for example, an “8.75” or a “3.25” value grey, the half step scale is even more valuable. The scale is also portable. It is an amazing, cost-effective find for painters and an asset to the field!

This Munsell scale in half increments is more than enough for most serious amateur artists. It packs nice snd flat for plein air and it is laminated so that you can dab paint on it to compare tones. Prrfect! It arrived much earlier than expected and the seller even enclosed a personal note!

So useful for half the price of the Munsell one.

It is exactly what I expected and exactly what I needed for my graduate project in color science.
