I purchased this ground feeder to see if the Crows that visit our garden would eat bird seed from it. I was putting out peanuts and bread, but wanted to be able to offer them some bird seed without tossing it on the ground. At first, they were a bit reluctant to use the ground feeder, but after a day or so, they became quite comfortable with it. Now I put nuts on one side and bird seed on the other. The feeder is a nice size and keeps the nuts and seeds dry and ready for the Crows morning visit. When they're done with their breakfast, the squirrels enjoy the leftovers. They have their own feeder, but squirrels are greedy little creatures. This ground feeder is sturdy, functional and fairly priced. I recommend you give it a try for ground feeding birds like Crows, Doves even Chickens.

This feeder is much better built than some of the other reviews I read would lead you to believe. It is really sturdy and rigid. The screen holds up and isn't easily flexed or dented. It has a strong metal frame as well. It is adequately coated -- I have had is mine outside for 6 months and is shows no signs of fading or rusting. I love that is is screened, it drains well. It is the perfect size and holds about a cup of bird seed, which seems to last about a day.I bought this hoping it would be a good size for a deck feeder ...and I was right. I have doves and other ground feeding birds that visit and didn't like the design of most feeders, because they are not designed to be inclusive of those types of birds. This feeder fits perfectly on my deck rail, and I used wire to tie it down -- so the squirrels won't tip/knock it off. The doves love this feeder. I am very happy I purchased this.I would definitely recommend this feeder to others and will probably be buying another one.

We used this for a squirrel feeder. Very convenient and well made.

There were several areas where the ends of the wire mesh were sticking out around the inside edge of the top metal (bird perch). I didn't read any other negative reviews, but felt this is worth pointing out (pun intended). I used a metal file to smooth the edges of the wire and bent over some that protruded out more. Otherwise the feeding was sturdy and I could imagine that it would last a long time. I'll probably notice some rusting now that in filing the sharp spots, it removed the black powder coating paint.

The mesh body works very well—holds a nice amount of birdseed yet allows rainwater to filter out.

Nice little bird/squirrel feeder. The legs on this feeder make it easy to zip tie down to trees which is what I did with mine. I have many feeders that are mostly wood and over short time all the animals break them. This feeder is on the small side but it’s nice and strong so I’m sure it will last a long time.

I liked it fine, but nobody would eat out it. Birds, squirrels & racoons wouldn't eat out of it, don't know why.

Instead of squirrels being so interested in the bird feeder, they can eat from this ground feeder. It’s sturdy and doesn’t blow around. Now if I could just get the bears to move to higher ground and leave the area, we’d be good.

At first I thought it was too small but it holds a lot of seed and the birds can sit around the edge eating the seed

We use it to put bird seed in. It keeps it dry because the water runs through it but keeps the seed in. I would have liked it to be bigger in size though.

Great purchase. Bought for turtle doves. Smaller then expected, but amazing quality. Would purchase again, and recommend.
