Great transaction! Very pleased!
I hope to gift this book to my daughter or a friend. I have one and have found it totally fascinating as I look through the history as it is laid out in the book.

A Comprehensive Pictorial View of World History
This book is a classic visual aid in understanding what was happening around the world at any point in time from 4004 B.C. through the early 1990s - biblically, historically, and politically. (I ordered the 1999 Facsimile Edition and it arrived damaged. This beautiful 1989 edition arrived safely.)

curious about when things happened.
Yes you can get that info off your smart phone. I like to see it before me so I can so forward and then back in time, easier. A great book.

Excellent illustration!
I showed this to my life group. The ladies really enjoyed the information and seeing the timeline. I ordered enough of them for each member of our group.

I love this charming Victorian timeline (updated).
I love this charming timeline of world history. All of my kids loved it as well.Be aware that it is rooted in the Victorian era, so it is oriented around the "great man" theory of history. It's also not a serious academic resource for what was going on in Africa or the middle east over the centuries. There are other timelines more in sync with today's approaches, but probably not one this charming. I can see cutting the long stiff paper out of the book and using it as a border in a child's bedroom.

Wonderful asset for history research
Although many errors may be found (by the more learned and astute amongst us), this timeline chart is an impressive work, especially considering it was created -long- before the Internet was available as an immediate and readily source of information.

Must-have Wall-chart book: history of the world
How could a wonderful book like this be allowed to go out of print?! First allow me to explain. This is one of those books whose pages fold out to reveal an annotated and pictorialized world history. It is beautifully produced and the sort of treasure one can spend hours poring over, or take just a few minutes at a time, if it has be set up on a hall or bedroom wall. It is simply ideal for a house full of kids as they can all benefit at their various ages and have some fun learning about different civilizations and countries going back to the year dot. Any chance of a reprint?

A wonderful 'book'.
This wall chart folds up so that it can be read as a (large) book on your lap. However you read it, it is absolutely crammed with historical facts from all the major civilisations around the world.Because it sets them out chronologically, you can easily see, for example, what was happening in Germany, France, China, Italy, Egypt, etc when Henry VIII was on the throne. I chose Henry VIII as an example as he is often cited as the one who started the protestant church but of course Martin Luther was doing his part at the same time and the first Protestant Council took place in Augsberg.Ivan the Terrible was also in power at the same time and Michael Angelo was alive for the whole of Henry's reign. Rome had 6 different Popes whilst Henry was on the throne and Solyman the Magnificent had taken the Ottoman Empire to new heights. The Portugese had started settling in India, Charles I of Spain became King of Germany (!) and China was in quiet isolation during the Vou-Tsong III dynasty.WHERE ELSE COULD YOU LEARN SUCH THINGS?One slight disappointment is that it does not try to deal with pre-history and uses The Bible only. It would have been better if it included archaeological information for that period too. For example, archaeology questions whether Nazareth even existed 2013 years ago and it seriously questions that the current Nazareth would have been in that location 2013 years ago.
