This is a truly wonderful collection for fans of the Alien franchise. Particularly those interested in getting inside the head of android David & witness his slow descent into madness.First off the packaging is great. The slip cover has a metallic tin-foil shine to it. Inside...two books. One is a paperback that serves as both interview and creative process walkthrough from the 2 artists. The second is a hardcover with page after page of beautiful/disturbing images from David’s experiments throughout his years of isolation on the engineer planet.This second book also tells a story in itself. As you turn the pages, David’s search for the “Perfect Organism” becomes bolder & bolder. Mixing traits of animals found on the planet, engineers, and eventually Elizabeth Shaw. The artwork here is beautiful and you can tell the artists had HR Giger in mind for a lot of the pieces you will find in this collection. This book actually makes me enjoy the film even more!

I bought this last year and it’s still like new (even has the new smell, which is very strong; so if that’s something you don’t like, I would say hold off. It definitely has to be aired out). Absolutely adore it. I use it as decor on a shelf dedicated to my most important movie/game props. The black book that comes with it is such a treat and I learned some things I didn’t know (definitely cleared up some unanswered questions, too!). The only thing I wish was that the words/pictures in the actual journal weren’t printed on. It would have felt more personal if it was actually drawn the the pages had texture. Other than that, absolutely amazing and would recommend to any Alien fan.

Product is beautiful. But the way it is handled and shipped is crude and barbaric! This is a collector's item, and its intactness is of utmost importance. And how is this item shipped? It is just placed inside the shipping box with NO CUSHIONS! No foam, no cushion wrap of any sort!I have ordered this item TWO times in a row now. First time it was severely damaged, the second time it still has visible damage on most corners! I don't know who is responsible for shipping this but this person has done a very inconsiderate and terrible job at it. Will have to return again after my first return, wasting all my time, again!Would've given a 1 star for the experience if not for not wanting to lower the rating on an otherwise great product.

Got it as a gift for a coworker/friend and they really liked it.

I actually bought this the day before they lowered the price by nearly $20.00 and I have to say I wasn't the least bit upset.It is a gorgeous slipcase package with a separate smaller tome interviewing the artists and an introduction by the set decorator and a hardcover "sketchbook" kept by David.It arrived in nearly perfect condition and is truly an exceptional piece of cinematic creation documented for posterity.
