Effective for my cat for over a year so far
Over the years I've had several cats that have gotten kidney disease from old age. I know the signs without needing a vet now. One of the first signs is seeing foam sitting at the top of the litter box after they pee. A couple of my cats have lived 5 years after I caught it early enough. I used to buy aluminum hydroxy gel powder from thriving pets. They have gotten really expensive over the years. I was glad to find this Phos-Bind here at a much more reasonable price. It is also delivered much faster with my Prime account. Time is the essence to using this. What I've noticed is this brand mixes into the wet cat food much easier. It also soaked in the dry at a quicker rate. I was so impressed. I'm not sure what people are whining about using this powder. The trick to using it in wet is to heat the food a little "first" and add a tablespoon or more of water into the food. "NEVER heat the food in the microwave AFTER adding this is in the food". I use around 1/4 tsp per meal of wet food. To use it in dry, put dry cat food in a Ziploc bag and add this by the teaspoon over the food. Zip the bag closed and shake the food. It should look like you coated it generously with powdered sugar. You don't need to have a pile of this at the bottom of the bag. You want it done evenly through out the food. Within a couple hours this should all soak in the dry food. I make up at least a weeks worth of food at once. Aluminum hydroxy powder will cause constipation, so I have generic Miralax on hand. I add about 1/4 tsp of that mixed in the wet cat food daily. Every cat is different so adjust the dose as needed. I don't measure out the aluminum hydroxy powder by weight, I dose it by how much my cat eats. I'm not sure of the thinking that goes behind dosing by your pet's weight. It has to bind with the phosphorous in the food to work. The better it's mixed in or soaked in, the better. I've been using this brand for a year with my cat Bobby. He looks better, is more bright eyed, and has put weight on with me assist feeding him. As long as your cat is comfortable and not in pain this might work for you too. I find this is effective for my cat.

Three years and going strong
My 18-year-old cat has been suffering from CKD for three years and this (along with his Prednisolone) has been a literal lifesaver. He refused to touch the Science Diet kidney food, but he'd eat the Fancy Feast Senior Pate, and by adding a bit of Phos-Bind it keeps him happy and healthy. Without it, he gets very sick. I put it in one of those screen-topped shakers and just dust his food with it (like you might dust the top of a chocolate mousse with powdered sugar) and mix it in, and that is simple and works well. My vet is astonished that not only is my cat still alive after three years but is actually fat and hearty despite the CKD.

Huge cost saving to make my cat more comfortable
My cat was sick with kidney failure symptoms, and the vet recommended a low phosphorus type of food, that was very expensive. I did some research and found this could be added to normal canned food. His symptoms are effectively gone and he doesnโt notice any taste when I add it in to his TikiCat canned food. Even with higher priced food, we still save money by adding this binder.

This saved my dogs life and is helping keep him alive.
This has help save my 2 year old Rottweiler. His phosphorus and all other kidney numbers showed him to be in late stage kidney decline. After changing him to pro plan prescription food, making home made food to supplement his food, a prescription pill and phos bind his numbers have dropped drastically. My vet said he was close to normal numbers. He started playing and running again. He is back to his happy self(( he bit me on the hand the day before I made a vet appointment which is way beyond out of character for him ) he can now interact with family again. On my second order and I will stick with it.

I recommend this bc it's working.
Seems to have really helped my old renal girl. She feels a lot better. Once a day, and I think she likes the taste in her WET food.
