I am looking for a kitchen knife with a good secure sheath that can go in my camping gear. How securely does the sheath attach to the chef knife?

It will not fall out of the sheath until you take it out. I just tested mine (both the long and short one) by grabbing it by the sheath and shaking it up and down. Neither fell from the sheath. I really like these knives, but they occasionally need sharpening. I have sharpened them twice in the year that I've owned them.

The description says the sheath is "not suitable for serrated or ceramic blades" yet also says "blade edge: serrated"! what good is that?

Blades are not serrated or ceramic. I have found these knives to be of high quality. Sheaths have sharpeners that work well with the knives. Again These knives are not cerated

Great persistent sharp knives

Love this set! Has not shown any signs of scratching on the blades after a few months of use. The ceramic sharpener on the cover is also a great idea and really does keep the blade nice and sharp with regular use. Just a few gentle strokes does it and as long as it’s done regularly, that’s all it needs.
