Crayola Virtual Design Pro-Fashion

My son is 6, and absolutely loves this set. It is a little fancy for a 6 year old, and you pay for that, but I think it makes him feel like a "big boy," which works for me. Good selection of colors, especially with the pencils, and you can always use your own good ol' box of crayons to supplement, if desired. Do BEWARE the markers... You'll want to use a divider, as the ink WILL bleed through the pages!! It also includes several plastic sheets of stencils, which work well and are pretty cool... definitely "race car appropriate."I was curious why there were even 1 star reviews, so I read some and it seemed to be agreed that the app is only supported on a limited number of devices. I can only attest to iPad and iPad mini, and we had no issues with the app itself or the scanning. Yes, I agree that it would be hard for the kids to scan it themselves if they are on the younger side, but really?? It takes 5 seconds to scan. If you can't help your kid out that much, then yeah... maybe this toy isn't for you. And kudos to crayola on the capturing. The cars portrayed in the app really do look exactly like he draws them!As the purchaser, I really appreciate the fact that the app includes extra printable templates, so you aren't out of luck once the original 20 pages are done. I also thought ahead a little bit and made copies of the pages that aren't online before he colored them, so he could have more of those models, too. So far the in-app elements have been sufficient for my little one. And he is NO stranger to racing games, so thumbs up there. It seems when he tires of playing the tracks, he just goes and colors a new car and begins the game anew.

This is a very neat idea but I would like to see more devices supported. If you go to Crayola's website you can find the devices it's compatible with. I would recommend doing that before purchasing. I have a Kindle fire HD that I let my 6 year son old use. After all it does have the kid feature "free time" so you can set it so they can't go online and you can set time limits etc. I would have thought that would be a perfect device for this game, but It's not supported. We found our latest Android phones were but mind you these are the flagship models. Less expensive and older models may not be supported. And the list online is pretty short.My son colored all of the vehicles in the book so I wanted to print more as it says you can, but the only way to do that is through the app. So you have to rely on your device to email them to you so you can print. You can't just go online and print them. That is a little less convenient and it took me awhile to figure out. So there are definitely some drawbacks and you will have a better experience with this if you are tech savvy. My son really likes coloring and designing the cars, and the game is fun - he really likes being able to race his cars he designed too. The case is nice and can double as a surface to color on. The templates are cool but many of the designs of the templates don't fit on the cars you're coloring.I would recommend checking to make sure your device is supported before buying. The other issues are not that big of a deal in my opinion compared to the enjoyment your kid will likely get with the over all experience.By the way, my son is hugely into cars. He has an enormous collection of hot wheels and several car related games. So the point is; this was an overall good purchase for him as a car enthusiast, and we happen to have a phone that was compatible.

This was a really cool present I bought for my daughter. She wants to be a fashion designer and loves to watch Project Runway and other designing shows so I knew she'd love this! She did. Not only is it great for the virtual design that shows the design on your smartphone or tablet, it also just a great kit to design clothes on.It comes with a design book, 36 colored pencils, pencil sharpener, 20 markers,and 4 stencils. We downloaded the app and she used it and at first it took a few times to get the hang of it but before you know it, it became quite easy! We photocopied the papers so we wouldn't have to purchase more. Not only is it fun for what it's intended but it's also a nice little case to keep her colored pencils and markers and drawings.I'm really glad we purchased this and my daughter (and I) both have had a lot of fun designing and seeing our design come to life!This product was a personal purchase for myself at the normal retail price. I am reviewing it because I want to share my experience with other potential customers.

The app on the store was taken down but my little cousins love the book a lot!

This was was a really fun gift for my son. The box that it comes in, is actually the case for all of the pieces which makes it convenient for storage and less mess. When you open the case it opens completely flat so that you can have everything in front of you. There are so many different colors to choose from. We all took turns coloring different pictures. The coolest part of this is that you can take a picture of your colored pic and it upload right into the game! Its great for kids to see their design that they made. We used an iPad for the app and scanned it on there. It seems to upload fine and the colors seemed to replicate great compared to the actual pic. My son really enjoyed it.4 out of 5 stars because he colored all of the pictures fairly quickly and lost interest after he ran out of things to color. But he still uses the markers and pencils for other things and the case is great.

This is an amazing set - design your own race car then watch it come to life in the app game- genious - both my son aged daughter love itThe game is limited to certain phones which we were lucky to have and can be a bit glitchy when scanning the drawing of the car into the game but managed to do it everytime so far - great value for money

It is amazing set for young artists, no more pencils around all in one place. There is no app for making virtual designs so only four stars

Bought this for my son, he absolutely loves it. I would definitely recommend it for 9-10yr old children
