Will this kill squirrels?

I suppose it is possible but it would depend on how big the squirrels are in your area. Both the tree and ground squirrels in my area are about twice the size of the average rat here, so I wouldn't count on my rat traps to capture and kill the squirrels. So far my tree squirrels have ignored the baited traps. You might want to invest in a trap designed for squirrels if that is your intention (and check your state's fish and wildlife agency to make sure it is legal to trap your squirrels!).
