Tessco for You 9 Pcs Reusable Soot Eraser Sponge for Dry Cleaning

These soot eraser sponges worked outstandingly well on my older white lampshades! They lifted years of built-up dust and stubborn dog hair that regular dusting and vacuuming could not remove. I was honestly amazed by the difference…they brightened the fabric and made the shades look nearly brand new again. The sponges have excellent absorbency and grabbing power, picking up dust, dirt, and pet hair without leaving behind moisture or residue. They are also surprisingly soft, yet durable and held up well throughout the cleaning process without falling apart. Since the package includes several reusable sponges, they are a great value for the money. With a dog in the house, keeping fabric lampshades clean can be challenging, but these handled the job beautifully. I highly recommend them for lampshades, dust, pet hair, and other delicate surfaces. Definitely a five-star purchase!

As a former owner of a fire restoration business, I am very familiar with chemical (dry) sponges to remove soot following a smoke incident. When i operated the business, I ordered the sponges in bulk from a restoration/industrial cleaning distributor. A chemical sponge is (should be) a sponge size soft gum eraser. They are very dense and as you drag it down the sooty wall, it picks up 85% the soot and the remaining can be removed with a degreaser cleaner. I had a closed flue incident over the holidays, which caused some soot to develop on the fireplace surround and mantel. I made a quick search on amazon and ordered these, which are NOT chemical sponges. They are of the same shape and dimension of real chemical sponges but they cannot pick up anything. They are basically slightly denser kitchen sponges and cannot remove any soot at all. Fortunately, I was able to find some left over real chemical sponges in the workshop and the real item removed the soot as expected. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT

They work pretty good.

I had a bad soot stain on the wall and ceiling from burning a candle in my bathroom for years. I did not know that you cannot wash it with water, which sets the stain. After I painted the wall, I discovered there is a soot cleaning sponge. I tried it on the ceiling, which I had not yet washed. It definitely removed soot from the ceiling. The sponge came away black and the ceiling looked a lot better.

This product was not as effective as i thought it would be. It did about 50% of the soot and after that had to reclean like 5x to get to a place that would not streak. Was kind of disappointed in the product. I own a construction and water mitigation company and decided to go with something new due to our normal product was back ordered

Fantastic for removing pet hair, but definitely not soot or smoke-covered walls.

These sponges are amazing! I used them to clean my drop ceiling tiles and tracks. No water or additional cleaning product used. The tracks and tiles look new.

These sponges will save you money and make less work for you when cleaning walls and ceilings for painting due to a wood stove, wood fireplace or there has been a fire in the home or business. I used to work for a fire, smoke and water restoration company and these really helped take the soot and smoke off. Your walls will still need a good primer like Kilz or Zinsser prior to painting, but with the prices of paint now, these sponges are more than worth their cost and the prep time to use! I definitely recommend!

Doesn’t work as well as the ones you get from local shops. Also doesn’t have the line to cut them into half’s.

These did not work at removing candle soot. Waste of money

Did the job but doesn’t last long hence why 4 stars.

Nimmt schon Ruß weg, aber wenn eine Wand richtig verschmutzt ist, hilft er nicht mehr. Man muss ihn benutzen, wenn man denkt, es geht noch ohne, dann kann man einen neuen Anstrich dadurch vielleicht ein Jahr rausschieben. Oder eben in jedem Frühjahr, dann hilft es vielleicht.
