Troy-BiltTB22 25cc 2-Cycle Curved Shaft Gas Trimmer

Ez-start never worked. 3 months after purchase it bogs down when gas is given. I called Troy-built, got a case number for repair. Had to drive 1 hour to nearest repair shop to pay $40 for them to "look at it". They told me they are a little behind with repairs and were not able to give me an estimate of how long it would take; weeks... months? I dont expect this to go very well. I am working on repairing old trimmer with a new carburator.I would never buy a troy-built product again.-----follow up------ got a call back from repair shop. They said nothing wrong , possibly bad gas. They want an addtitional $36.00 in addition to the $40 i paid to get item back. Thats $76 repair bill for a $99.00 item!

The amazon ad says it is. Troy Bilt customer service says it is. I took this model to a Troy Bilt servicer and they confirmed it can't be used with a Jump Start electric starter or a bit. If you want to tear it apart and buy and install part 753-06173 then it just might work. Perhaps it's the use of the word "capable" vs "ready". Regardless, it's misleading advertising and I'm not happy. Seeing how my local big chain hardware store and the local servicer I visited have stopped associating w/Troy Bilt, it's best for the consumer to do the same.

BUYER BEWARE. TroyBilt Trimmer Tool Products have not been mass produced since Y2018. The one feature that was unique to TroyBilt Yard Products was JumpStart Technology. I just purchased the TB22EC from Amazing Deals on Amazon, knowing I was paying a premium to get the advertised JumpStart Technology, for which I already owned the Handheld DC Starter and Drill Adapter as I have owned two other TroyBilt products purchased in Y2007 & 2013, the latter having just failed this Summer. What I received from Amazing Deals was a TB22 without the JumpStart Technology. Do not pay an $80 premium for what is basically an $100 Trimmer. Turns out you cannot return these Products once you put Fuel in the Tank. I would NOT buy anything from Amazing Deals as they are not selling the same Product they are advertising.

Arrived several days ahead of schedule. Packaging was excellent. The one I had previously was backed over by a tractor...But I really liked this model, sadly its discontinued, but East Coast still has some available. Quick 5 minute assembly and you're trimming. My old one was sometimes hard starting but this one started on the 8th pull..Following the recommended starting procedure. This is a great trimmer

This unit is powerful enough however after using it 3 times, starting it, and it continuing to run after heating up has become a problem. I use only the premixed canned fuel and follow the starting instructions to the letter. It ran excellent 1 time. Now its a struggle. I assume I will have to start troubleshooting by replacing the plug etc. This is my first Troy Bilt and am disappointed. I did not have this problem with my 2 previous trimmers. They just wore out from years of use.

T this is the second Troy-Bilt trimmer I purchased the first was a 4-cycle which was impossible to start. This one here is a two-cycle which I thought would be easier and more dependable to run. I should have listen to the reviews it ran fine for the first few times I used it now it doesn't want to start. Tried new fuel and a high octane and it's still won't start. Would never recommend this to anyone.

Appreciated the start assist (using battery drill and attachment), other add-on attachments such as chain saw, steel brush cutter and edger. This is my second model of this type. Wore out the first on and replaced with a like model. Good quality, easy to start and light weight.

Works well for the price. It's not a Stihl but it's also not Stihl money. It works well for the $89 price tag. Definitely would recommend.UPDATE: After 7 months it's dead. I didn't use it often; maybe 2-3 times per month and I don't do anything tough with it. I edge and trim a relatively small lawn. This is the second one I've had and I've finally learned that you get what you pay for.
