Dorman 924-275 Fuel Door Release Cable Repair Collar Compatible with Select Honda Models

So I have a 2005 Honda Civix Coupe EX. One day the handle stoped working completely so I bought an OEM unit and cable from Honda to replace it. Then I found this product! Easy to install, clips were not to bad getting on but we’re not that strong. Enough to work but for how long is the question. I found a little hose clamp and just snuggly tightened it up. Works like a charm! Would definitely buy again if needed!

Works amazing. You need to zip tie though to make sure it doesn't come apart. Besides that it is great.

Didn't work to fix fuel door release. Doesn't hold cable securely enough to prevent it from pushing through when the fuel door lever is pushed. Perhaps my problem is somehow a different kind of common failure or this may be made to fix only one type of part failure. I don't know. All I know is that my 05 civic fuel door release cable failed and the only real solution is to buy a complete replacement. We all know to do it right the first time. This product is not the right way to fix the cable.

So, I had the fuel door thing happen for a second time to my Honda Civic. Last time, it was a repair at the dealer, which I seem to recall was over $300. This time, I researched the issue on the internet and arrived at this part. I'm not a super mechanic, but I watched the video on YouTube and it seemed manageable to do myself, and the cost was fantastic, clocking in at under $12. So, I ordered it.Just finished installing it on my car and it was really straightforward and now my gas tank door works again. Great fix for the cost.My one complaint, and the reason that I only gave it 4 stars, is that the clips aren't really strong enough to hold the whole thing together and to keep the tension. I put the clips on, but there was still a gap where it didn't hold it closed. So, like the previous review, I used zip ties. In my case, I put zip ties on top of the clips, which both fit in the groove and used them to cinch the whole thing tight. Seems like there has to be a better solution than the cheapo clips, such as a hose clamp tightened with a screw. But, hey, for a $12 fix, I am happy enough to improvise.

I started research on this product when the fuel door of my Honda Civic 2003 would not open. As everyone, i open my fuel door only when i need fuel, and this time, i was running on low - real low. This happened at 3am in the morning, so you realize how frustrated i was.I researched the problem on the net and found that it would cost me $200 - $400 to replace the whole cable.This product is great. For $12, I was able to get my fuel door to open again. I spent an hour removing the trimming, setting this up and putting everything back. that was the only "strenuous" part. It works like a charm. There are videos on youtube how to do this the right way.

I have a 2003 Honda Civic LX. it fit perfectly, I was just surprised how basic and cheap it was considering I paid almost $20. I really could’ve just used REBAR TIE WIRE to hold the release cable in place but it worked out!

Watched a youtube video on this repair and they recommended this part. It’s a super easy install. Did it during a 30 minute lunch break. Be sure to watch a youtube video on how easy it is and save yourself a bit of money in this economy if it’s just a minor repair like this.

I ordered this thinking it would fix the cable problem of the gas tank and the trunk doors. Let me first say the installation of the black plastic piece was a cinch. However putting on the rings was almost impossible. And once I finally got the rings on, they didn't help keep the piece in place. So I Crazy Glued it shut. Well the fix lasted all but a week and a half before it broke. So where I thought this would be an easy quick repair... it wasn't. I would say NOT to order this product. It really doesn't work as a long term solution.

Lo recomiendo si tienen problemas con sus chicotes y no quieren cambiarlos o ya no encuentran, solo que los arillos de metal no sujetan muy bien y son algo difíciles de poner, así que seria mejor poner "cinchos".

I'm really glad I found this for the 2005 Honda Civic I just bought. It's super easy to install and works perfectly. No more reaching into the trunk every time I want to fill up the tank.

I knew what I was getting when I ordered this item but it's a lot of money for a piece of plastic and a couple of skinny metal rings. The main thing though is it was easy to install and my fuel door works again.

Easy install, fit is a little loose in the cable. And holding rings a little weak. Has allowed the cable to migrate out of the adapter a couple times.
