Is the sizing uk or usa? i assume d5 (4/6/8/10/12) is the same as a uk 4/6/8/10/12 and not a usa 8/10/12/14/16

Pattern sizing doesn’t really correspond exactly to either UK or USA sizing. It’s a sizing system all of its own. Generally speaking you’ll be about 2 sizes bigger in pattern sizing than your Marks & Spencer size, bit that’s just an estimate.

Do they have pockets? If not, are there side seams where I could add some?

No there aren’t any pockets but views A,B,C ( trousers) have side seams but not the skirts
