The reviews on this were a bit mixed but when I realized most of the negative feedback was due to the firmness I gave it a shot and I am soooo happy that I did! I have a pinched nerve in my neck that has cause me issues for YEARS and I have spent hundreds of dollars trying every kind of pillow known to man from water pillows to feather pillows to regular memory foam pillows and even a few that are specifically for my kind of neck pain and while they are good they weren't helpful for my situation. THIS however works so good! Yes, it is Firm, but that is what I need. I can no longer sleep on my side for health reasons so if you are a side sleeper I can't say how well it would work, but for a back sleeper looking for neck relief from severe pain it is worth every penny! I got the medium profile and it is the perfect height. It is not too heavy but stays in place during the night to support my neck and head all night! I have finally found my perfect pillow! If you need support and sleep on your back I highly recommend!

I had one of these Tempur-Pedic pillows around 20-years ago and liked it, but switched to down pillows for some reason, and have been through many other types of pillows over the years. I have been waking up with neck pain and headaches for a long time. While the pillows I have feel comfortable when I go to sleep, they are not supportive while I sleep! Trying to save a few bucks, I ordered some other funky off-brand ergo pillow here, and it did not work for me. I ordered the medium Tempur-Pedic neck pillow, and it has done the trick! Neck is supported. No pain, no headaches. It just takes a minute or two when getting ready to sleep to get situated. I expect I will get that figured out. I'm just happy to wake up without my neck in knots! Before purchasing, I read many, many reviews. I saw a number of people complain that this pillow is "small". When you put it next to a standard pillow, yes, it is! But really, how much pillow does your head need? This pillow has plenty of room to lay on your back and turn side to side. I also saw people complaining about not being able to fit a regular pillowcase on it. Why? It has a comfortable washable, removable case. If it doesn't fit your decor, throw it in a closet during the day. Also yes, it is firm. But that is the point. The comfy mushy pillows won't support your neck. I highly recommend this pillow vs. the knockoffs. It keeps your neck more stable and supported while you sleep.

Although it is backed by Tempur-Pedic’s reputation for high-quality sleep products, I found this pillow to be very uncomfortable if you are a side sleeper. It wakes me up due to pain caused by the harsh firmness that so far has not eased up. I hoped it needed a break-in period, but it is just too firm for me. Granted, I don't like ultra-soft pillows, but for me, this one is just too firm. However, if I sleep on my back, it's fine. You’re paying a premium for the Tempur-Pedic name and memory foam quality, and if you don't mind a hard pillow if you're a side-sleeper, it will probably be good for you. Like most memory foam, it can feel warm during the night if you’re a hot sleeper. Bulkier than standard pillows, so it’s not easy to pack or carry around.

My cervical stenosis was flaring up earlier this year after I did some exercises improperly (bad posture). I was doing my PT exercises when my doctor suggested I try this pillow out. I purchased it and another pillow because after reading the reviews this pillow is good for neck pain but is really hard. I gave it a try and after a few weeks of using good posture while exercising and sleeping on this pillow my neck felt better. The pillow is designed well but it has one flaw it is hard and became uncomfortable to sleep on when my neck was feeling better. I switched to another pillow designed to keep my head in the proper position while sleeping because it was comfortable; yet, I still use this pillow when I experience some neck pain during the day. I like it but it would be nice if it wasn’t so hard. I would have given it 5 stars but I dropped a star for comfort. If asked does it work, I would say it worked for me.

Bought this for my boyfriend to upgrade his old memory foam pillow that he loved after he complained about having neck/back pain. He’s been sleeping on this pillow exclusively for 3 months now and is obsessed with it and refuses to use any other pillow. Love that the pillow comes in different heights for comfort and neck support based on preferences. This pillow has definitely helped with pain relief and better sleep quality for my boyfriend. Also love that it has a removable cover to wash and keep clean. Well worth the investment to wake up feeling better!

Finally found firm foamed pillow. The first pillow lasted with cover for protection 10+ yrs. Change & wash pillow case twice a week. The soft pillow not firm enough to hold head up

I had one of these for years and loved it. I bought this as the replacement and so much has changed for the worse. It’s about 6” narrower than my old one, so it looks absolutely minuscule on the bed. Feels supportive like my old one, but it’s too small to be comfortable during the night. Wish they made this in the wider size, but they’re probably cost-cutting. Not great value for money. It also went 15% off the day after I bought. If you’re set on this pillow, wait for a sale.

I ordered the "Standard" profile pillow first, and I found it to be too tall under my neck to tolerate. I returned it and purchased the "Small". My previous pillow was the Tempur-Pedic "small" profile, and I used it for more than a decade. The previous version was a softer, more-conformable version of the current pillow. I've used it nearly a month, and I have decided to keep it, although it is considerably less conformal that the original that I used for too long a time. It's far better than most pillows on the market today, though, so one can't be really fussy. Neck support is sufficient for most people, I would guess. The difference in pillow height between the Small and Standard profile is only half an inch, but it feels like at least an inch higher subjectively. The reason for the high number of returns, I suspect, is most people are ordering the "Standard" profile, and they find it too hard and rigid under their neck. The memory foam basis of the pillow simply isn't the same as what many of us "old" users are used to feeling. My advice to anyone reading this review is to make sure you try the "Small" profile. Tempur-Pedic would be doing us and Amazon a favor if they were to relabel the Small profile as the Standard profile. I'm about six-feel tall and I thought Standard would be just right. But I was wrong because of the current version of memory foam construction. Anyone shorter than that, I think, will find the Standard to be "Ginormous". Don't take Tempur-Pedic's sizing too seriously - small isn't too small for most people. The pillow is expensive, so choose carefully.
