Just remember, where you place it matters
I have this in my hobby greenhouse to control the fans during the warm season. The controller will be more important in the fall and spring, when the temps are more variable. At first I thought it didn't work, because the fans didn't turn off when the thermometers hanging in my greenhouse clearly showed the temp was lower than the controller threshold (should have turned off at 70F, and air temp was 62F). BUT when I came back from getting a meat thermometer to measure the air temp right next to the controller the fans had turned off. I measured the air temp next to the controller and realized the rock on the ground had retained quite a bit of heat and the temp had been about 10 degrees warmer down there! I took a pic just after the cube shut off the power. Works perfectly. :-)

Works fine
So far it has worked fine. I believe the one I bought comes on at 20 degrees and turns off around 30 degrees. I use it for the heat lamp for my chickens, and so far I am quite satisfied.

Not quick to turn on or off
Very good product but it didn't work fast enough to turn an exhaust fan on/off for my project. I have used and still own three of their low temp thermo cubes for years to keep water dishes from freezing and control the dog house heater in the winter. I like them a lot. I'm sure it would work good enough for an attic fan.

A Must Have for Barns and Homes
We live on a farm and would be lost without this product. Our summer was intensely hot this summer (heat indexes over 100) and we grew weary of turning fans on and off day after day. We found it easy to plug our fans into the outlet and it performed perfectly. This product I know has saved us money this summer because many nights I would forget to shut off the fans and they ran all night long. With this product the fans no longer run all night and the goats have their fans on consistently when they need it most. We really liked the fact that his product has two receptacles that let us plug in two fans. money by using power only when temperatures require cooling We also have a similar product for winter that automatically turns on a heat lamp that is over our water facet coming into the barn. No more frozen water lines.

Defective item and the seller (StateLineTack) does not admit it
The one I bought does not turn off at 70 degrees. The seller StateLineTack does not want to issue a refund. Please see below the conversation I had with them. Ended up filing an A-Z guarantee claim. Me: The item is defective. It does not turn off at 70 degrees. In fact I could not get it to turn off at all. StateLineTack: Please advise as to what application you are using the Thermo Cube in so we can better assist you. Me: I'm using it to turn my A/C on and off. It does not even turn off at 68F, I just checked. StateLineTack: As stated on our website it works with all types of home and farm fans: window, ceiling, exhaust, ventilators, attic, and roof. Industrial ceiling, room, air circulator and table fans. It will not function properly with an AC unit due to the thermostat. Me: There is no indication that its use is LIMITED to the examples you gave. A reasonable person would assume that if a thermostat is supposed to turn off at 70F it will do so no matter what is plugged into the outlet it controls. This unit is clearly defective it does not turn off at 70F, not even at 68F. The thermostat accuracy is out of advertised values. StateLineTack: As per the description on Amazon, the unit is to be used with fans only. We can assign you a return authorization number if you wish, but the return shipping fees would be your responsibility as the item is not defective. Me: Again, there is no word "only" in the description. Secondly, I just tried it with my ceiling fan and it DOES NOT turn off at 70 degrees. How's it not defective?

These temperature switches work great! Keep outdoor cats cozy and healthy.
I have both the TC-2 and TC-3 units. The TC-2 unit (20 degrees on, 30 degrees off) controls an immersed heater in the circulating water fountain I constructed for pet drinking water. The circulation pump by itself keeps water flowing above 20 degrees. Below 20 degrees, this switch enables an immersed aquarium heater to add heat to the system to keep it from freezing. Works great, and cats love to drink from the flowing fountain. The TC-3 unit (35 degrees on, 45 degrees off) controls power to 2 low wattage heating pads that the cats sleep on in their outdoor shelter to keep them nice and toasty. I also feed power to a low wattage decorative rope light so I can tell when it comes on (not sure if the cats have figured that out yet). The temperature settings appear to be fairly accurate, to within a degree or so. I have had no problems with either the TC-2 or the TC-3 units. I have used them for several seasons and they keep working. I am very happy with them.

Works as it should
I love these. I get the on at 20 deg. F and off at 30 deg. F model which is perfect for keeping your pipes from freezing in the winter. I put a Halogen spot light inside the pump area near the pipes, and cover everything with 2" foam insulation and a blanket over that. The Thermo cube is outside the insulation and in the ambient air. Works like a charm.
