This was exactly what I was looking for. I was kind of leery about buying it after reading another review on here about it, who claimed that it photographed white for them. But I did not have this problem. I actually used this to shoot 13 children who were wearing white shirts and it definitely had a contrast against the background. The product does match the swatch that's shown pretty well. It's kind of like a light tannish-gray, which is what I wanted. This was the first time I used a paper backdrop and I really like it. It's a thick quality paper, but just make sure you're not using it on carpet because paper on soft surfaces with people or furniture on top- not a good idea.

This is a good, thick, quality paper backdrop and really get the simple, non-wrinkly look of a background I'm going for. The only hang-up I can say I had was that I really thought it would be a bit darker than it ended up being. The little color swatch on the screen displays a much darker look than white. I did a portrait session with a baby, using one large umbrella studio light, and I started the session with a bright white paper backdrop...then decided to switch to this Studio Gray...I couldn't notice a bit of difference on my camera's LCD screen. But I thought I would notice it later on the computer...nope. There is barely a photographic difference between the white and studio gray. I guess it might be more noticable with black n white photography if you wanted a higher contrast between someone wearing white.

After watching several tutorials on backdrops, I can see why Savage paper was the most recommended. Studio Gray is easy to light. I can use different color lights, and it looks like I have a variety of backdrops.

Arrived with a bit of a wrinkle down the middle but the color is really beautiful. I like that it can look grey or tan, depending on how I light it. Savage paper is always a great quality, just disappointed that it had a bit of a flaw. I still use it, I just have to avoid the wrinkled part or do a quick edit in post production.
