Is this engaging for 2.5 year old or too old for this? For someone who already familiar with alphabets.....

I bought this for my grandson when he was 3 for Christmas (now 4 1/2) he enjoyed it then but I do not know if it is still a favourite.

Can you switch off the sounds?

No. Unless you take the battery out.
