Bell push is a problem, PDL are also useless at returns
Within 4 months the bell push became faulty, meaning that the bell continuously rings when it's pressed. Picture shows back off bell push, when someone presses button hard enough it snaps the ‘spot welds’ on the black plastic square behind it, allowing the push button to stick on. Reading other reviews, this is a known fault. I have 2 of these at work, with no problems, but this one failed very quickly. I tried to return it and PDL are useless at corresponding. Finally got a returns info email, only for them to write 'we accept your return on the following condition. the item must in it's original condition along with original packaging. the item must not be assemble not used.' So you buy the item, but you're not supposed to use it? How the hell are you supposed to realise if it's gone wrong and request a return, if it's still in the box, being carefully looked after while not actually being in use? They also want you to return post it at your own expense, will only refund that if they agree with the fault being theirs and also subtract an admin fee. It's just not worth the money to send it back. Be forewarned if buying this and certainly don't get from PDL

A good bell but...
I found very quickly that the bell push kept getting stuck in when someone had pushed it so got a continuous ringing until you could pop the button out again! Got to the point where I couldn't pop it back out and had to unplug the ringer and take the bell push off of the wall and take it to pieces to see if I could fiddle with it. Once opened up I found that it just needed the bell push button to be repositioned so the it didn't move over anymore. Since doing this, touch wood!, it has not failed to pop back out once pushed!

DoorBell Set Up In Minutes.
REASON FOR BUYING: Wanted a cheap doorbell with xmas and standard tones.REVIEW: To use the bell, you have to plug the main device into a wall socket (the item on the right of the image) and then put the doorbell wherever you like (the item on the left in the image). It was really easy to set up. Once plugged in, you simply follow the instructions (hold down both buttons until you hear a beep) and then BOOM, they are connected. You can then keep clicking the button on the right until you hear a tone that you like the sound of. We choose the xmas 'Santa Clause is coming to town' type poloyphonic tone. There is over 30 tunes to choose from. The item comes with screws and also sticky tape to put up the bell outside. You can easily adjust the volume using the buttons on the bit you pluged into the wall.PROS: Set up in less than 1 minute. We used the sticky tape provided and its still lasted and never fallen down.Nice blue glow to show that its on.Easily adjust volume and tune.CONS:NoneSUMMARY: If you are after a cheap door bell that is designed for dummies, this is perfect.

More than a door bell
This has so many different tunes to choose from it is quite amazing really. It is loud enough to be heard over the sometimes too noisy TV. It can be set with tunes which double ring rather than single so you don't miss it. You can also change to carols at Christmas or even dog barking. I hope it lasts a long time as was more expensive than some of the others available but so far well worth it.

It works, it looks good, it’s easy to fit and it’s here!
It’s a door bell push button! No, it’s a replacement door bell push button. It arrived in two or three days so getting it to me was quite sharp!Value for money? Well it’s a replacement! The last one lasted about five or six yearsSo ask me again in 2026 and I’ll let you know!Is it easy to use?Well as I said it’s a bell push, I live here so I don’t push it! But I guess pushing a button can’t be too difficult!

OK initially but has it's faults
Bought this over a year ago and straight away ran into problems with the bell which only worked intermittently and then completely refused to work. Turns out that in order to work, you had to push really hard on the bell which then became loose internally. After taking it apart and reglueing the internals into position, it finally worked, but now only if you press the button for more than 2 seconds (I've given up counting down he number of missed deliveries by mail people). The second issue was the range. In short, it's terrible. With open doors, the main unit is plugged into the hallway and the portable is in the lounge not 10m away. As soon as you close the doors though, the lounge portable unit doesn't pick up the signal anymore. The range is in fact so bad that you almost need line of sight if you go any further than 10m from the bell (bring the portable unit into the hallway and it picks up signal again). Finally, after just over a year, both chime units have decided they will only work intermittently so I'm giving up completely now and going for a different more reliable brand.Summary:Door bell needs FIRM push otherwise it won't work.Door bell needs to be pushed for more than 2 seconds to work.Range is pathetic- 10m through doors/walls, that's it.Both chime units working intermittently now
