Manhua 24 Hours 12VDC Mechanical Timer time Switch TB-35

Great little piece of tech. Using the timer to control a solar well setup. The first to timers of a different type didn’t last a week each. This one has been going strong for a few months now. Easy to program and change setting. Keeps good time. Currently installed in a plastic enclosure that sits outside, the timer does not seem to mind the hot or cold weather so far.

Bought this timer to replace a faulty electronic timer (although a popular model) for a 12V solar/electric system for a shed and landscape lighting. It is basically an electric clock with traditional dial and hands. You set the clock and it rotates a 24-hour dial that has small pins that breaks 24hrs into 15 min intervals. You raise all pins corresponding to the time period you want your device to stay on. When the rotating dial reaches that area the switch goes on. Pros: as a non-electronic device it is not sensible to any electric issues: low voltage, interference etc. It has an internal battery to keep the clock running if power is disconnected. Totally solved the stability problem in my case. It is VERY easy to program and can have many on-off periods if needed, very simple and logical. Cons: as it is a clock it makes quite audible ticking sound all the time. Not a problem for my shed installation, but I would not recommend it for a room. Also the instruction manual sounds like a poor translation from Chinese, they could have done a better job with that. Luckily, there's not much to understand there. Obviously, electronic devices can be controlled remotely via app etc, this is not that type of thing.Overall, the product matches expectations. I can't opine yet on reliability, but looking good so far.

It has an included, internal battery that keeps the time set. Just in case the external power goes out. I use it operate the (2 to 1) red to blue LED 12 volts lights in my hydroponic garden. I do have other 110 volts lights, also on a timer also. Lights are needed because the 16mm Polycarbonate boards have a UV coating on them. I run 1500 watts (@12 volts) thru it from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm in the summers. Mine is no louder than a paper-clip, that has been dropped. It does exactly what I purchased it for.

this timer lacks proper instructions. the included instructions contain literal jibberish. setting the timer is fairly straightforward, there are several poorly made videos that describe the process. for wiring clarification: S1 and S2 connect to the power source, where S1 = positive and S2 = negative. L1 and L2 (load) connect to the device to be powered, where L1 = positive and L2 = negative.physically the timer is well built, it has a better exterior build than the intermatic timer: FM1QTUZH-24U. but with the deliberately misleading instructions as well as several reviews saying the timer only worked for a few weeks: i wonder about the quality of the electrical components.it’s unfortunate that if the battery is not connected or too old the unit will not function.

Lasted 2 days. Nowhere as durable as an Intermatic mechanical timer. You get what you pay for.
