Quality Protein Source (Grass-fed Beef)
I weight train three (3) days/week. I also bike, swim, Pilates, and other fitness activity. I put A LOT of effort into maintaining fitness levels. I use a protein supplement post workout as I have realized that my fitness outcomes can be increased with seemingly minor changes. As to post-workout protein, I move my sources around as diversity is important - right? Whey, Caseinate, Pea, Rice, Hemp, Watermelon Seeds, Almond, and maybe some others I have missed? Some of these, especially the vegetarian sources, may not be complete so I combine them to get complete. You know what I have never tried as a protein supplement? Beef. And yes, the concept of organ meat as a source kinda creeps me out. As a bovine source of protein, and gras-fed at that, I would consider this complete protein although it doesn't contain an amino acid profile. If whey upsets your stomach (a common criticism although I don't have this problem), I definitely recommend you try this.No artificial flavors or sweeteners though (Stevia); bonus points here!!! No soy (I have an allergy)!!! I mixed it in a shaker, a bit clumpy but a few more shakes and I got it fully dissolved. Vanilla; a bit sweet for my taste but this is a personal thing. I will mix it with some unflavored to trim down the sweetness more to my preference.

Protein-packed powder from a reputable brand
I've been testing out new protein powders this year, and this Grass Fed Beef mix from Peak Performance is my latest subject.THE GOOD:-Peak Performance is a well-respected brand with a large product offering.-This particular powder is non-GMO, lab tested, and doesn't contain gluten, sugar, soy, dairy, or whey.-It has a really good ratio of protein/calories.-The item that I received has an expiration date of June 2027, which is almost two years from now (plenty of shelf life left).THE OKAY:-While it does clump up a little, it's not as bad as other protein powders I've tested. The clumps are pretty small. If you can deal with a little clumping, you'll be able to use a hand mixer. If not, definitely use a blender.THE NOT-SO-GOOD:-For my taste test, I added a scoop to 12 oz of milk and blended. Now, this is going to differ for everyone -- because we all have different palates (mine is quite sensitive due to a higher-than-usual number of taste buds) -- but I didn't care for the taste. I'm usually pretty good at being able to explain this, but this one is difficult to describe. It isn't salty, and it doesn't taste like beef (for anyone wondering). I just can't put my finger on what it is. And while it isn't overwhelming by any means, it's still there. I tasted it while I was drinking it, and it lingered on in an aftertaste until I was able to eat something else. I think it's great that they added vanilla flavoring, but for me, it just didn't mesh well. Perhaps it will be easier to use this in a baking recipe, but personally, I'm only interested in the shakes format. So, despite all the positives, I can't get past the taste. That said, it is entirely possible that others may not even pick up on it, so it's worth a try.

Flavor is a -10
This stuff is god awful! It tastes like you killed a deer, field dressed it and ate its hot liver. Even though I used a ninja blender it still had this gross layer of foam. I wish I could return it but unfortunately I’m going to take a loss on this because it’s inedible 🤢

ITS OK!
Now this definitely fills a niche for certain groups of people which I can RESPECT. If you are following a paleo/cross fit type regimen this is a perfect product for you.Now this does not taste like beef. I did have the vanilla flavoring. I tried using this in several different ways. FIRST with cold water in a shaker, no no no. This needs a blender or a milk frother. I pinched my nose and drank it down.NEXT almond milk (I don't buy regular milk) did not mix with a shaker, and even the frother there are some clumps but its not undrinkable. The best way I had this was mix with 8oz almond milk and add in cold coffee.I am not a huge stevia fan, and this stood out to me right away. Its not overly sweet but the stevia punch hits you. There was also something else that I just could not put my finger on that I literally needed to go grab the container and read it. Cinnamon. I don't know why they added cinnamon to vanilla. The only thing I can think of is they are using cinnamon to hide something else, maybe it tasted beefy with out it? Maybe the stevia was to over powering of the vanilla? I do not know. While I appreciate all the clean ingredients, and all the 3rd party testing, organic etc etc. This just is not so much for me.For my diet and fitness needs I would rather spend this on something that is mixing well, and tastes amazing with out the need to doctor it up.

High-quality, grass-fed ingredients
The media could not be loaded. I’m impressed with the quality of this supplement. It’s hard to find a beef protein with such clean ingredients. The vanilla flavor is mild, smooth, and not overly sweet. I was pleasantly surprised by how enjoyable it tastes, especially for a beef-based protein. It mixes easily into water or almond milk with a creamy consistency.Unlike some organ-based supplements, this one has a clean and pleasant smell.I highly recommend this for anyone looking to boost their protein intake while also getting the powerful benefits of organ meats.
