Finely ground with a pleasant rye flavor, I like this rye flour and use it 50/50 with Ceresota or other unbleached flour to make bread and buns, plus a Tablespoon of caraway seeds.Bread baking tip; buy a big pork loin roast when it is on sale and roast. When cool. skim off the fat, purify by simmering in some water for a few minutes, let congeal, skim off the fat and and put it in a 8 oz mason jar, covered, in the fridge. Use this, 2 Tbls for the fat in a loaf of bread or batch of buns. Makes lovely soft bread and does not have the preservatives that are in commercial lard. I use regular - not extra virgin - olive oil to oil the bread bowl and rising loaf. And I always use the sponge method of bread making, add half the flour to other ingredients, beat 100 strokes, cover and let rise, then add rest of the flour knead and proceed. Makes nice fine texture always. Slice the cooled roast into pork chop size servings and freeze, Makes many delish and quick dinners, plus fabulous bread. :-)

Good flower, but paper packaging leaks flower, I wish it were stronger or plastic based like Bob's.

I dont know how old these bags of flour are, but almost all our bags came unsealed. It looks like they had been glued shut originally, but the glue dried and poped off, and doesnt keep them sealed. There is no inner bag with a better seal either. If it wasnt for the outer plastic on these bags they would have been all over the box. I will not be buying again.

Quick delivery of this wonderful rye flour. Good balance between coarse and light. I'm experimenting with various recipes to create an east-coast style sour rye loaf. These small bags are perfect size for the home kitchen versus a giant 25- or 50- pound sack.

I am very into rye breads so this organic version of the rye flour is awesome.

Really a wonderful flour, great taste in the finished product, I will continue to purchase this brand.
