The Gigabyte Aero 15X "Almost great"!
I bought the Gigabyte Aero 15X V8-Bk4K4P, that's the 4K model; for me, this one is a mixed bagged it has a good overall build quality and feels solid; I really like it but I'm not in love with it.PROS:The keyboard is good to type on and also has a numeric keypad, the keys an individually lit.The chassis is mostly all aluminum with a bit of plastic trim, would have preferred if the build was a unibody "it could use the same design but change the camera placement"The screen on my model pushes out 397 nits of brightness and is 98% Adobe RGB and 100% RGB so quite well for my use-case.CONS:Does not have very good battery life and I'm not referring to gaming; in my daily use I've managed 6hrs and that's on a good day all other times I've gotten 4 to 4.5 hrs unplugged. The fans can get very loud but I don't mind that as long as it gets the job done.Their software needs work, the interface is much to be desired.Out of the box, the laptop quirks to be worked out; I skipped all that and did a clean install. The speakers are subpar and very tinny sounding.Suggestions:Implement windows hell into the fingerprint. They should rethink the plastic pits and change the build to a unibody ( this would eliminate any gaps, like the small one found on mine".Add a speaker to the grill directly below the camera between the two air vent, as this could aid the bottom firing speakers and possibly provide a richer more vibrant sound.Increase the Battery size to 97 watt-hours.CONCLUSION:Overall ill give this laptop an 8/10 and would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a good laptop but if you have no need for the 4K screen, get the 1080p instead. If you can pick this laptop with the GTX 1070 for $1600-$1800 USD that would be a good deal.

Lovely, when plugged (Am I doing somthing wrong here?)
I love this laptop... but only when connected to the charger. I thought this pc would be ready to use, but the truth is that I had to configure some stuff like audio, trackpad (twice because it deleted all my settings after a windows update). The only thing that is keeping me kinda mad at it is that I haven't successfully configured my power options yet. When the laptop is running on battery drops the performance more than 50%, which ends up having a really slow laptop even for web browsing. Though, when plugged to the power, it's wonderful. I mostly do video editing and transcoding several RAW clips and this laptop just cracks my previous desktop which wasn't that bad.For now only 3 stars until I get it to work the way I want

Thin and light
This laptop is very lightweight and thin considering the components inside it. I use this computer daily and it replaced a Carbon X1, primarily for additional performance. I'm capable of running multiple virtual machiense at once, even with graphical effects turned on. I really enjoy this since I like to use Linux desktops in full screen mode, with all effects enabled. This allows me to leave the Windows OS almost untouched and only used for playing games on the weekend.Speaking of games, this thing is a beast even compared to many heavier laptops. Considering it's overall weight / size you can't go wrong with this laptop. Aesthetically it's also very pleasing compared to other similar Asus models. The only con I have right now is some random Windows OS crashes when booting up / resuming from sleep. I'm going to try a clean install to see if it's related to software or not.I would but this again.

Great hardware overall with one major flaw
Easily the worst keyboard I have ever used. The inclusion of a num pad on the far right shifts the rest of the keyboard left, and the touch pad is also off centered. Its very uncomfortable as the left palm is either awkwardly tilted, or lacks support. This flaw renders the laptop essentially unusable for anything other then games.

I'll be doing heavy photowork and gaming so this is the perfect balance of size and power
Just ordered this beauty. Will update the review as soon as I get my hands on it, but this is the only laptop right now that meets my needs as a gamer, an IT professional, and a photographer. I've spend countless days, and hours researching whats out there now and the gaming laptops with comparable hardware specifications have huge form factors, low battery life (some even drain battery when plugged in), and run at absurd temps (which makes me question their longevity). The design on this is particular model is slick and the port selection is optimal (and modern) for my needs. The screen alone and the external monitor support was a huge reason for me to bite the bullet and buy this. Not to mention a NVIDIA 1070 to boot. I mean look , read the feature list and decide for yourself. There isn't much competition, and while it may seem pricey IMO it's worth every penny. On paper this thing blows mac book pro out of the water. I'll be doing heavy photowork and gaming so this is the perfect balance of size and power.
