Are these authentic 3M pads sold in the box?

I had the same thing happen that the other two answers mention - obvious non-scotchbrite pads were shipped instead of authentic ones to me (August 2020).  I provided pictures of real scotchbrite pads next to the fakes as well as a picture of the generic bag they came in instead of the actual 3M box.

This grey pad is filled with silicon carbide abrasive mineral, a synthetic mineral that is very sharp and commonly used for low-pressure applications such as paint prep. While it breaks down faster than aluminum oxide, it produces a superior finish.

Painting some metal parts. the paint manufacturer recommends 36grit sandpaper.would 7747 scotch-brite pads be good, or would something else be better?
