A good product but poorly supported
The BluCon NightRder from Ambrosia Systems is actually a very good device in itself. It is easy to set up and works very well once you can get it working. It does a good job of keeping track of changes in blood glucose levels. There are, unfortunately, a number of problems currently associated with this device. The first problem is acquiring one. The BluCon NightRider, while it is made by Ambrosia Systems, actually comes from Orbeez Enterprises. This would not be a big deal, except that despite the fact that Ambrosia Systems is a company based in California, Orbeez Enterprises is in India. Ambrosia has a website that people can go to in order to place orders directly with the company, but when you check out you will discover that apparently the only country that you cannot enter for a destination is the United States! If you are in the United States, the only way to get the NightRider is to go all the way to India and order from Orbeez, either through Amazon or directly from Orbeez. I learned (after bugging the Ambrosia people through email, facebook, and through phone conversations) that for reasons unknown this American company does not want to ship their products directly to Americans. Consequently, going to a company in India is the only way for Americans to get this product. And do not believe what they say in the product description. Customers in the USA do not get this product in a week. When I ordered my NightRider early last month, it took almost a month to finally get one to me.The app is OK, and functions relatively well, but there is no complete documentation for it. There are settings and preferences that are unclear, and there is a kind of calibration mechanism that could, if it were properly explained, help you to get more precise blood glucose readings. Unfortunately, there is no documentation of this or any other functions. The basic function, displaying blood glucose levels at 5- minute intervals, is easy to figure out and use. The problem is that there are higher functions available that are more complex and are not documented. They aren't even described anywhere. One last thing about the software: what you get on Google Play is a Beta version (It says this on the main display). There are bugs in the software, the most annoying of which is its tendency to repeatedly reset itself and disconnect from the NightRider if you start the main display in any matter other than from the notification bar (this is on Android). As part of the startup sequence, it bugs you to log into your BluCon account. This means that if you go to another app on your phone and return to the BluCon App, you are always logging back into your account. If you choose not to have an account, the app does not remember your choice and bugs you anyway. As a software engineer who has some expertise in Android development, I know that there is no excuse for having such poor behavior in an Android app.One last annoyance: in order to use the NightRider, you really need an armband to hold it in place over the Libre sensor. Unfortunately, as of the last time I checked, the only place to get an armband that works best with the NightRider is the Ambrosia website. You know: the site that you can't order from if you are in the USA. I spent over a week looking for good armbands in stores, on Amazon, and other shopping sites. The best I could find was a funeral armband sold here on Amazon. This armband is not an optimal solution, because it is not designed to be in contact with human skin for a long time. We need the Pinasha armbands that are specifically made for holding the NightRider in place. My NightRider did not include an armband, and last time I checked Orbeez did not sell them either on their site or Amazon.By the way: getting support from Ambrosia or Orbeez is significantly more difficult than having teeth pulled. When I first learned that the United States was not a country you could pick on Ambrosia's order page, I thought it was a bug. I made repeated calls to Ambrosia to report this bug, and was referred to the CEO. He was never available. I left several messages for the CEO, who never got back to me. I also sent several emails to Ambrosia's support address. They were never answered. It was only when I used various methods to send emails to various other company officers, then posted public comments on Ambrosia's and the CEO's Facebook pages that I finally got a response. That was when I learned about Orbeez, and apparently not long after I made my public complaints Orbeez began selling the NightRider on Amazon. The NightRider is a great device, and despite its status as beta software the app works well for performing the basic monitoring functions. The company, unfortunately, does not provide decent documentation for the NightRider or its software, provides no place to get documentation, makes it more difficult to acquire its products than necessary, does not sell Americans everything you need to properly use their NightRider, and has one of the most unresponsive support mechanisms that I have ever seen.If they ever fix the bugs in their software (and put out a version that isn't Beta!), document their products and software better, sell necessary accessories to their American customers, and become more responsive to all their customers, I may return and update this review and give them more stars. Right now, however, I must give a two star rating to a product that, if it weren't for the problems I have described, would otherwise get five.

Really not quite a 5 star but...
I purchased this the blucon nightrider directly from Ambrosia Systems. I am a non-diabetic on a low carb diet and am trying to sort my way through the noise of what I can eat that won’t cause a blood sugar spike. I got a prescription from my doctor for a freestyle libre 14 day which, as I found out, is the newest model and so had to wait for a couple of months for transmitter to come to market. The nightrider beat the maiomaio to market so I went with it. It was hard to find a phone number for but a Bing search got me to who I believe is the owner. They’re located in San Francisco. He has a strong Indian accent and seemed like a nice guy. I gather it’s a very small outfit. After receiving the nightrider I connected it to my iphone with the LinkBluCon app and it showed up on my apple watch as well. I think that I should be using both of the apps together to make them work correctly on my watch and phone but that’s a bridge I’ll cross later. The trial and error of getting the Bluetooth to connect consistently with my other Bluetooth hardware has been the biggest issue, though I think it’s an iphone problem. Seems like only three devices are tolerated on Bluetooth. Till I got used to the process, I would regularly have to close the LinkBluCon app, forget the device in Bluetooth settings and reestablish the connection from the getgo. You have to put in the id in the app that is printer on the nightrider. Now that I’ve got that stuff figured out it works great. I mounted the Libre and Nightrider on the backside of where my “love handle” used to be (I’ve lost most of my fat on a low carb diet). I didn’t want it interfering with my workouts, on the back of my arm. Works reliably where it’s at on my side with about a 10 minute delay from my finger stick reading. The information that I’m getting is amazing. As an example oatmeal and rice really spike me, even after 24 hours of refrigeration, unless I add a lot of olive oil. Anyway… a bit of a trial to deal with and not a lot of support but the blucon nightrider is a great product in the making. Just be prepared to fight it a bit without much support. Hope this helps…

Works well on my Xoami Redmi phone. On my old Blu phone was always losing BT connection.
Works well with my Xoami Redmi phone with Libre 10 day sensor for last 7 months. Use xDrip app. Unfortunately it seems to have stopped working when Abbott issued the replacement 14 day version of the Libre sensors in USA early in 2019. I get a "SENSOR IN UNKNOWN STATE" from xDrip. I think ABBOTT has changed their sensor code.

Did not meet shipping date
The Nightrider device is just ok. When it works, it's generally decent though the app needs refining. Keeping it connected and working is the trick. We'll keep using it until a better product hits market. We purchased this to replace a Nightrider our T1D lost. We paid for extra fast shipping. The company did not meet the expected delivery date and refused to refund the additional shipping we paid.

Excellent option for CGM
blucon nightrider is a continuous glucose monitoring (cgm) device which transmits librefreestyle sensor reading to cgm. Have purchased this device recently and started using it. Here are some pros and cons of the device.Pros:1. Continuous glucose monitoring with a lot of other features like alarm/notification for a defined range of upper and lower glucose levels.2. Glucose levels can be shared with care givers and can get notification the same as received by the user.3. Calorie intake can be tracked by clicking food images.4. Shows upwards and downwards glucose trends.5. 30 days data can be exported from mobile devices. More data can be exported using ambrosia care site credentials.6. Librefreestyle sensor or pro sensor can be activated directly through the app. NO reader required.7. Can sync with Google fit app as well.8. Replaceable cell, so can be used for a long time.9. It's waterproof, caution needed when wearing device and swimming.10. Can calibrate with reading of finger pricked blood glucose level and have the corresponding readings.Cons:1. Bulky, so difficult to care.2. Once activated through the app, the sensor reader cannot read the glucose level. Only read through the mobile app.3. Gets disconnected sometime when the location is off, the mobile device range is far away from Blucon night rider, have other glucose monitoring app etc.

Convert libre to real CGMS
Pros :1. It converts libre pro in to real-time CGMS one can get real time sugar reading unlike libre reader2. It's easy to use and installation is easy3. Family member friend or doctor can also get all readings and graph provided the person using device and app is connected to internet4. Notifiactions for low sugar or high sugar makes management easy. Hypos can be predicted before they happen and could be avoided5. Arrow indication rising or falling trend of sugar so person can act accordinglyCons1. Arm band is not practical to keep device attached to libre sensor2. Two sided tape is good alternative but makes sensor plus device bulky3. On day 1 device keeps disconnecting from mobile from day 2 it's start working perfectlyOverall must have device for all on libre pro sensor I call it economical dexcom
