I have a SUPER thin clear plastic case for my phone but it ...
A friend told me about this and suggested that I try it out. My first attempt to attach the magnet part inside my case as instructed didn't work very well. I have a SUPER thin clear plastic case for my phone but it kept falling off the mount. Even something as a tiny pot hole or turning my car sharply would send it off flying under my feet. I contacted Logitech support about getting another magnet and they told me "sorry. Can't send you another one". As cheap as these things are to make, it would make sense to me for them to have done it. Anyway, I purchased a new magnet and put it on the outside of my case and IT WORKS PERFECT! I can keep my phone cool on my air conditioning vent now. I can hit a pot hole as big as my car and the phone stays securely attached to the car mount. In fact, sometimes when I pull my phone off the mount, the mount comes off my vent. Great product!

Five Year Review
I bought my first Logitech mount 5yrs ago and never had a single issue it. My vent clip never bent, broke, or loosened and the power of the magnet never weakened. It was always a very secure hold (even over bumpy roads). You can see there are some issues with the magnet's shine dulling and some of the top layer of the clip coming off, but again, 5yrs later and those are the only issues. It works perfectly.I bought a new phone and bought a new magnet so hopefully quality is all the same but I totally love this product!!

Only worked for 4 weeks then stopped working
At first this worked perfectly. However after four weeks my phone started slipping off the magnet, it wouldn't hold for longer than 15 seconds. Tried putting it on another air vent and various things but nothing worked. So it has been a very expensive product given I only had 4 weeks of use. Would not recommend.

I like it!
Works very well with my Iphone 6+. I have a feeling most cases are not going to work well with this if you attach the metal plate inside the case. I put the metal plate directly on the back of my case and it works very well. The plate is low profile, so it doesn't bother me at all. This may not be an option others will be willing to do, but it works well for me. If you don't want to do this, you will have to look into the Logitech + cases which are made to go with this mount. However, I believe that Logitech only has these cases for the Iphones 5c, 5s, and 6. Don't think they have one for the 6+ yet.

Strong - Holds iPhone plus
The magnet is very strong and holds my iPhone plus in a case without a problem. The only challenge is that if your car vents are slanted the phone will slant as well. I have a Nissan Pathfinder and the vents slant upward. I ended up buying a pop socket knockoff and putting the magnet on the back of that. This allows the phone to tilt the opposite way of the vent (instead of pointing up). Also, be aware that if you do have a large phone it may block entirely the air flow. Not fun when it’s 100 degrees and you are running the a/c. They need to develop a holder that plugs into the CD player - never use that anymore. However in the meantime I was super impressed with the strength of the magnet.

Works great
I've had one of these for years and just purchased a 2nd for our other vehicle. Definitely follow the instructions on cleaning the surface of your phone prior to placing the magnet on the back of your phone, otherwise the adhesive will not stick securely. The magnet always holds my phone in place even on bumpy roads. It's never fallen off. I'd definitely recommend this product.

Great idea, but poor execution in my case
UPDATE:I stopped using it - my GPS in the phone stopped working when it was on the thing. I don't know if it was the magnet placement or the metal thing blocking signal, but once I removed it, the GPS worked again. The mount thing also didn't hold well to my vents. Stopped using it.ORIGINAL:Coworkers told me they loved theirs, so I got one. It is much smaller than I expected.First try, it was difficult to get on the vent. The vent is at a steep angle, so the phone basically faces the roof of the car. That then catches light from the windshield, making the screen hard to read. It also reflects off of the windshield, making for a distraction in my field of view. Worst of both worlds. When I went to take my phone off, the whole thing - the phone, the mount, and all just came off - thankfully leaving the vent okay. I went to remove the mount, and it tore the sticker off with it. The sticker seems capable of going back on, so will try again later. But in my case, in a Range Rover Evoque, I would not recommend this and instead go with a glass mount off to the side.

It works, but comes up a little short
So I bought this unit so my wife could mount her phone in her car and use it when she uses her navigation app. The magnetic mounting system has a lot of appeal. First, you need to consider the vehicle you are going to mount this in. I can't really call this a universal mount. Vehicles with fixed horizontal air vents that are flush with the dash surface are probably the best application for this device. My wife's air vents pivot up and down and the weight of the phone tilted the vent to a poor viewing angle. Also the unit is really short and if your vent is recessed at all, then you probably won't be able to mount the phone without hitting part of your dash. Another thing to note is that, because the mounts prongs are very short, it is very difficult to adjust your phone to a good viewing angle toward the driver without risk of it falling. Logitech did a very nice job with the build quality, as usual. The unit is attractive and well made, but just not quite universal enough.
