The Great Salsa Book: [A Cookbook]

This has some excellent salsa recipes. I have tried several and have been very pleased with the results. The instructions are clear and there are color photographs of each of the dishes. However, if you're expecting recipes for traditional, tomato-based salsas, like you find in the stores and restaurants, you may be a little disappointed. Most of the book describes "salsas" that are fruit, meat, seafood, or vegetable based.I do have a complaint about the book format. It is tall and not very wide, the cover is thick and the binding is very tight. It's not the kind of book that you can lay flat to refer to while you're preparing the dish. Luckily, most of the recipes are very short and simple so you won't be referring back to the book very often. One final nitpick - I wish they had included more information on the various ingredients. They provide some, but I had not heard of some of them and it would have been nice to read about them. Other salsa books I have read provide this information. Despite these negative comments, I can recommend this book to anyone looking for some unique recipes to spice up the meals and parties.

This book is amazing because it has salsas the likes of which you never would have imagined. I've made over a dozen recipes out of this book and enjoyed them all. Some of the more "standard" salsas I've made dozens of times over. If you like a different kinds of topping to enjoy with all kinds of meals and snacks then this book just might be for you.

I searched everywhere on the internet for a good salsa recipe book; one that actually had a variety of recipes that seemed original. It was not easy. I went through reviews for most of what I came across and realized that many of these salsa recipe books seemed to be publishing many variations of a single recipe. This was to be a gift for my mother who is an incredible cook. I found this one and it seemed to have more unique recipes, all different. My mother absolutely loves this book. Great purchase.

I gifted this to my sister for her birthday and she loved it. The book has a great variety of salsa recipes and it's organized in categories.

What a great book! Beautifully printed, wonderful recipes. We love to cook and this book was suggested to use by a gardening friend. He does a huge amount of canning and uses this book to create a variety of salsas that are then preserved for later. Just to be clear...this is about salsas, not how to can and preserve. You will love the variety of recipes. My experience is that I have to double the recipes because they don't last very long. Also, this is such a beautiful book it would make a wonderful gift.

Has a bunch of fun salsa ideas, but not really as much variety in the recipes as I was hoping for with a whole book. Seems like half the recipes are basically duplicates with minor changes, but it does cover most of the salsa types.

It's poor in every concept, there is not even an exploration to the dried chiles and its preparation. I don't think he has any cultural exploration to the american southwest and Mexico.

Purchased this for me ex / roommate. He hasn't bothered about using it but I have and it has some amazing recipes in it. I didn't realize how hard it was to find a salsa recipe book but this one is great!

Although this book arrived 4 days later (just a weekend in between) it was in excellent condition and exactly as described.I thought for $1 it was an excellent buy!!
