ASUS EEE PC 1005PEB LAPTOP LCD SCREEN 10" WSVGA LED DIODE (SUBSTITUTE REPLACEMENT LCD SCREEN ONLY. NOT A LAPTOP )

I bought an Asus EEE netbook for my 12 year old to do school work. At half the cost and weight and twice the battery life it seemed like worth the risk of a screen breaking under school and backpack conditions. My fear was well founded. Althought expensive compared to the total cost of the netbook replacing a screen is easy to do yourself. There are a lot of different screens in the same base models of netbooks and most suppliers will charge you a return fee. So it's definately worth opening up the unit and getting the exact manufacturer and replacement part number before you order. First go and buy a small screw driver set at your local hardware store. Then go to Youtube and find a video of someone removing a notebook screen. I had the old screen out in less than 5 minutes. With the right number in hand start shopping.Variocana was an unrated supplier when I ordered. Their price was great and the shipping fee on the West coast was the cheapest, so I took a chance. Like a Penthouse letter, "boy was I glad I did". Shipping on Amamzon is a little tricky for those of us that have rural PO boxes for US mail, because we're never sure how a vendor will ship and the post office will sometimes send things back if it has a street address. But Variocana responded quickly to an email about this concern. The screen arrived in a few days; my son and I installed it in a few minutes. It worked perfectly and the replacement was a matte screen which seemed to have better color that the old glossy screen.

It arrived very quickly and they packaged the screen with enough bubble wrap to be sure it didn't get damaged enroute of delivery. The screen looks great and was really easy to install. This was the first time fixing a laptop screen and it was really simple.

We had no idea how easy it was to replace our broken netbook screen. Less than 15 minutes of time (most of that due to this being a new experience and we took it slow to make sure we were getting it right).We won't hesitate if it ever happens again.

This monitor was perfect for my netbook, it worked just as it was supposed to and arrived quickly and in mint condition. Youtube has videos on how to install yourself, I highly recommend it.

It arrived sooner than I thought, and I had it installed and up and running in less than five minutes. I noticed that I have a dead pixel, but it's tolerable compared to what I was dealing with before. No complaints here!

The screen was great and awesome to install. However, I am unable to use the computer due to hard drive damage.
