Kato 11-103 4 Wheel Chassis by Kato

Took it out of the package, put in on the tracks, and it went driving happily away. Its just a set of drive wheels like in any Locomotive. You don't have to do anything but power it to make it work. Now I just need to build something that looks vaguely train like to put on top of it. I suppose I could use it as a replacement engine for a small locomotive. Maybe I will motorize a truck or one of the gas speeders. Heck, I could build a couple of scale outhouses on it and let it go off on it's own around the track.

Very good chassis, it works extremely well... albiet I did have to service the chassis slightly when I first got it, just check and see if the contacts are a little bent (you can bend them back with very fine tweezers, just be very careful) or if you intend to glue it onto something such as a Peco kit (e.g. Peco GL-6) or in a custom locomotive, my suggestion would be to have the two main screws taken out for ease of servicing... especially if you get epoxy in the cogs or for oiling.

nice power unit for using on kit engines , brought 2 of these to use as power units for 2 engine kits I ordered from the UK , worked good and then I tried using them to kit bask a Mini Train and Atlas Locomotives that didn't run , was able to make them work with minor modifications to the engine body shell so I ordered 2 more on them plus 1 other kato unit to see if I could use it to power something in the future .order 2 weeks befoe xmas and they arrived 2 1/2 weeks later !!!

good quality ,some other Japanese brands not so well made ,THESES ARE STILL MADE IN JAPAN
