Premium Pet Waste Receptacle, Integrated Fly Trap, Stainless Steel, For Medium to Large Dogs

I really did want this to work out, but I may have set my expectations too high. In any event, I feel it's important to note a few things for others that may be considering purchasing. First, this trash can does not have a sealed/solid bottom. It's an open bottom, so when the removable liner is out, you can see the floor/surface it's sitting on. Knowing this upon unpacking, I decided to give it a try anyway (my preference was to buy one that was completely sealed, but couldn't find that information anywhere in the description of this item) The removable plastic liner is convenient and I do use a trash bag to line it with. When the foot pedal is pressed the lid does not open all the way. It opens wide enough to make a "deposit", I do use poop bags and tie off with a knot, but for those that are depositing poop into the can directly by way of a rake, shovel, etc. I could easily see how the clearance of the lid opening may not be enough and could be messy. The worst thing about this can is that it does not keep the poop odor contained at all! It's smelly even when the lid is closed and with only one poop bag inside! a waft of odor when the lid opens/closes is expected. But this is just stinky all the time! For many years I've been using a commercial 5 gallon bucket with lid and bucket lined with a trash bag. I wanted to upgrade simply for the hands free/foot pedal operation on opening and closing. Was also hopeful it would contain the odor better. I take out the poop once a week/disinfect container and put in a new bag. The bucket by far keeps the odor much more contained than this trash can, and this is marketed as not just a trash can but a " Premium Dog Waste Trash Can" so I think it's fair to have some level of expectation on performance since it's designed for poop! I can't speak on its fly catching abilities, I didnt purchase it for that and haven't tried it. Maybe it catches flies better than it contains odor! Using the poop odor as an attractant to catch flies was not my primary goal. Disappointed to say the least, and there goes $70 in the crapper!

Alright, admittedly as expected after reading the reviews prior to purchasing this thing while a great idea is just not quite there in design and I agree with some that have said, it is greatly overpriced for what it is. With that said this can has what I consider to be a FATAL flaw as it ruins the very function the thing was designed for, picking up pet yard waste! Most commercial scoopers for yard waste pickup will have a terrible time dumping into this can, this was most definitely not thought through or battle tested for its intended purpose prior to going to market. Story on card says it all, couple see flies going into their KITCHEN garbage can and come up with the brainy idea to create a bucket on hype that catches flies. No regard to the market they pitch to and for what PRIMARY purpose the product should perform. Seriously would love to ask this couple if they actually have dogs, a yard they clean up poop in and one of these cans they have actually used lol. The lid doesn't open far enough for dumping people! You need to fix this, it's so ridiculous it's laughable. What it purpose of one handed operation using a foot petal when you gotta push the lid manually just to get another 1/2 inch of room to dump, and still struggle to get it down the can. I mean this is ludicrous, thought this had to be a joke or someone getting a bad product but no the lid really does make this HORRIBLE for it's primary intended purpose. And who the heck cares about catching a few flies flying around one's yard...hah? Maybe in the house sure this makes sense, but outside....silly, silly idea. You know the market you are selling too, the pet industry....really does just need a can that works for this purpose. No silly fly contraption needed....fill that need and you'll have a product that will blow up here on this site with thousands of 5 star reviews attached to it. This is a go back to the drawing board project!

I have been looking for awhile for a trash can for my pup's poop. I liked the design of this one and thought it a bonus it would catch flies as well. It is a great trash can, love the foot pedal so I don't have to touch the lid to dump a load. It is the larger size and has enough space to hold a weeks worth of a German Shepherd's waste without issue. I have yet to catch a single fly. I have verified the trap is open, but all have evaded capture. It's not a huge deal as I really just wanted a nice outdoor waste bin, so this does the trick and was priced similarly to high quality cans of the same size. Love how the inner bucket is also removable for quick change of the liner. I'll continue to wait for a fly capture, but love the can regardless of its hunting abilities. It certainly is smelly enough, which I now no longer notice until I pop the top for a deposit, so that is the greatest benefit of all.

This garbage can is too expensive, the fly trap I worthless, had 1 fly go in it and just walk around on the stick tape,the trap it self is way to small and if the flys did like to go in it which i have a ton of flys around and only one went in the trap after i put a piece of chicken in it to attract them, it is way to small to hold any good amount of flys. So basically i have a $60.00 mini trash can with a picture of a fly on it, i will not spend more money buying there small worthless fly traps for it which are way over priced.

Wow, received it the day after I ordered it! Wasn't expecting that since it wasn't on Prime. It looks and works great. There wasn't any info on what size garbage bags to use. I use a tall kitchen garbage bag.

It has not worked to catch flies at all. It’s a glorified waste can. I wanted to like this but it’s hasn’t proven to be all that effective.

It is very small- a 5 gallon bucket is bigger, way over priced

Great concept if it actually worked. The can is tiny and the flytrap doesn’t work at all. We’ve been using it for about 3 weeks now and there are no flies in the trap at all.
