Hello, Thank you for your question, I am sharing some step to install SSD on Macbook air system. How to partition an external SSD on a Mac Step 1: Connect the Crucial X10 pro SSD to your computer Connect your X10 pro or X9 pro to your Mac with the enclosed USB-C cable. If your Mac only has a USB-A port, you'll need to use a USB-A adapter (included with the Crucial X10 pro, sold separately or bundled with the X6). Step 2: Open Disk Utility Using Finder, go to applications, then utilities, then open Disk Utility. Step 3: Create the first partition Select Drive, then select the “create partition” option. Step 4: Name the new partition Create a name for the new storage location (such as “X9 pro Backup” or “X10 pro Backup”). Step 5: Select a filesystem type Select a filesystem type from the options (APFS works well for backing up files). Step 6: Select a size for the new storage location Choose the amount of storage space you want to allocate to the new partition. For example, if you want to split a 1TB X10 pro Crucial SSD into two equal partitions, choose 500GB. Step 7: Create the second partition Click the plus sign (+) to create the second partition. Step 8: Set up your second partition Repeat previous steps to name (such as Crucial X10 pro transfers), size, and create a filesystem type for the second partition. (exFAT works well as a read/write filesystem type and is compatible with both Mac and PC.) Step 9: Complete Hit “Apply” when prompted. After, a warning will alert you that all current files will be deleted from the X10 pro. Select “Partition.” Two storage locations (in this case, Crucial X10 pro backup and Crucial X10 pro transfers) will appear on the desktop. Excellent performance

Slightly more expensive than the competition, but totally worth it. The performance is great, particularly *sustained* write speeds. Many SSDs have an SLC cache, which results a pretty good result on benchmarks such as CrystalDiskMark. But when you use them in the real world and write a large amount of data to them, once the cache is depleted the disk slows to a crawl. I've tested to fill the entire disk with data. It sustained writing speeds of 800~900MB/sec all the way to the end, until it hit the "disk full" condition (note: ~900MB/sec is the limit of the 10Gbps USB interface I was using in my test, so if you connect it to a 20Gbps interface it may be even faster). A pity that Crucial decided to go out of its consumer business and this SSD will probably no longer be sold...

購入して暫く経ちますが不具合は発生してないです。PC本体のUSBがUSB 3.2 Gen 2 x 2の事をしっかり確認して購入しないと速さは発揮されないと思います。私はちゃんと確認しなかったので大して速くないです（笑）

LESS THAN 24 HOURS it stopped working! WORST SSD on the Market for MacBook M1, M2, M3, M4 users

I ordered the extremely expensive Crucial 10 "PRO" 4TB SSD, expecting a high-quality, professional-grade drive. Instead, it failed in less than 24 hours. I transferred my data from my old Crucial 8 to this new 10 "PRO" version. The next day, after restarting my MacBook, the drive became completely inaccessible. First Aid failed, and now all my personal and professional data is stuck on this useless drive. As a music producer and photographer, this is a nightmare. Amazon directed me to Crucial for support. Their agent, Huang Ying, told me they couldn’t do anything and that I should go back to Amazon for a refund. They didn’t offer a replacement, and I was advised to seek costly data recovery services. At this price, I expected a reliable, long-lasting SSD. Instead, I got a $400+ paperweight that didn’t even last a day. This will be the last Crucial product I ever buy. My time and data are crucial... their products aren’t. MacBook Pro M1, M2, M3, M4 users, stay far away from this trash.
