Clunky combat and ridiculous load times
Firstly this is my opion based on 10 hours gameplay. I had been looking forward to this game for months, and boy was I disappointed! First, let's discuss the load times going from place to place, it takes you right out of what could be an immersive game. Unfortunately waiting 15-30 seconds whilst the game loads into a different district ruins it. I was led to believe you were a Vampire in this game yet you can be killed by having someone club you to death... Really? Or by being hit by a Skal with no weapons. You may as well be human with how easy dying is. Level 10 and getting hit twice with a blunt object kills me? Ok, I must be rubbish at the game - the other 200+ games I've played must be really easy. Talking of combat, someone likened it to Witcher 3... clearly someone who has never played Witcher 3 because the combat is no where near as good as it is in that game! The game isn't ground breaking and is no different than most other linear games that claim you have "freedom" because your only real freedom is "do I kill this NPC or not". There is an illussion you are free to do as you please, but you're not. Its not even a semi-open world. Its districts with load times going from one to another and nothing really worth exploring. The RPG elements, you level up and can modify some weapons. Back on the combat, it takes about 6 machete strikes to kill a skinny mortal human or several clips of your gun. I so wanted to love this game and thought it might get more interesting as I went along, but it doesn't. Once the load screen comes up going through a door, I'm taken right out of the supposed "role play" of the game. It had potential, but sadly it just doesn't entertain me in the slightest. I will be trading it in Monday.
