Bellman Audio Maxi BE2020 Wireless Personal Hearing Amplifier with 71dB Amplification - INCLUDES - Headphones

I have a hearing loss that I consider manageable, but I do have trouble hearing TV. I have been turning up the volume to the point others in the room complain that it is too loud. The alternative to the high volume has been for me to simply miss a lot of words in many TV shows.My doctor advised hearing aids, but said that I probably wouldn't be satisfied with them considering my needs. I am old and thinking about a big investment, like hearing aids, needed to take into account the wisdom of spending that much money. I decide it wasn't, but I set about trying to find something that might partially solve my TV hearing problem for less money.I tried three or four of those cheap (in the ear) amplifiers on the market for thirty or forty Dollars, but was disappointed with them all. I continued to research the options and ran onto the Bellman & Symfon Maxi. At first the price seemed a bit high for a non-hearing aid amplifier, but all things considered I ordered one.I have been impressed, surprised and extremely satisfied with my Maxi. It was simple to set up and adjust. I can set my 'bad ear' at a higher volume than my better ear. The Maxi provides some ability to change the tone and that is a big plus. The Maxi filters out most of the background noise just as the description claims.It is supposed to run for 150 hours on two double AA alkaline batteries. I haven't replaced the batteries in my Max yet and I have used it about three hours per day for several weeks. It is still going strong. This device is a personal sound amplifier on steroids.The Maxi amplifier is probably too large as to be perfectly mobile, but it is just right to set on the arm of my chair for TV listening. It is well made and obviously a quality device. Yes, I am very satisfied with my Bellman & Symfon amplifier. No, I do not regret spending the money to acquire it. It has been money well spent.Foot note:I ordered my Maxi from Liberty Health Supplies through Amazon.com. The earphones that came with my Maxi were damaged in shipment and I used the 'Contact Seller button' on the Amazon.com orders site to let the Liberty Health Supplies Company know about that. They sent me a new pair without a question. Is that a class operation or what?

I purchased this unit for my 93 year old mother. She has lost several custom hearing aids and it was getting expensive to continue replacing them. After reading reviews on Amazon, I decided to buy this unit. The unit is fine and performs as expected. The headphones were obviously inexpensive and nothing very special. They kept sliding off my mother's head. I chose to go to Radio Shack and purchase Auvio headphones that covered her ears like Bose headphones. They worked just fine with the Bellman.

Pros: looks nice and controls are well laid out.increases sound level dramaticallyCons: I found the sound to be very noisy....i could not listen to music.I could not boost the treble frequencies.I found the headphones to be uncomfortable even though they were adjustable.When I tried my expensive ear buds, the left ear bud was blown out.....it no longer produced sound.I found it very expensive for what I received.

After some research, I found this. I (at age 54 currently) have had hearing loss since childhood. I had tubes inserted in my ears by age 40, purchased my first 'in canal" hearing aid by 45. Nothing comes close to this wonderful product! Its super easy to use and put together as I usually have difficulty with some things and need my husbands assistance. It was up and running in 5 minutes. When I first put it on, I heards sounds I wasn't ever able to hear before, I was amazed! The unit provides crystal clear sounds with no background noise whatsoever. The only slight noise I hear is when the device is rubbing against your clothes while wearing it, not all the time of course but its not a bothersome sound. This unit comes with all the 'bells and whistles" too. It has an adjustable head phone set, ear pods, a belt clip, a lanyard the unit can clip onto, and a great feature as well is long cables that hook directly into your television! I also purchased the extended warranty for $9.95, so the total came to $ 169.00. In fact, I am so impressed by this unit that I am going to purchase a second one soon, just so I have an extra.I certainly waited a very long time for the 'perfect match' for my ears, and this was definitely the one! Two yrs later summer of 2016....... I bought two units and misplaced both of them. I am so disappointed because I now hear 'little to none' without my units! I strain severely to pick up anything and I mean anything that is spoken to me and most of all I can't hear my pastor at church. I suppose I will try desperately to try to mlocate one or the other. If not it will be a third purchase on the horizon. I hope I have helped!!
